Straight Red for Valodoun clipping Koul. MVC reduced to 9
That's harsh, he ran across him at full sprint. What can you do?
Kuol would be free in front of the goal, get out the way? Unlucky.
My issue with the second Red is the Ref didn't see enough in the tackle to call it live & the TV replays barely shows anything. How is that enough to change your decision?

It’s a pity- it looked like the onfield ref got things fairly right and the VAR screwed him up. I’ve defended the refs a lot this season, but that was a reffing team shocker.
I watched a game yesterday where the ref watched the screen for about 5 minutes and told the VAR to go away.
This looked like a card on Kuol for simulation, tbh and then a classic old make up call for not getting the first one right.
All that I learned from this round of the A-League: If we stay injury free, we are serious contenders to take it all the way to the Championship. Since our home loss to the Jets 0-3 It is only the injuries that caused us to drop points. I do not mind with Victory and CCM, as long as we continue winning all the other games we should, and that requires clean bill of health.

Those two points dropped vs the Roar when Old was shoved off the ball would be rather useful right now.
Have a bit of a theory that good players from middling teams win this more than good players in top teams. There's a sweet spot where the team is good enough to support and showcase the talents of a top player, but isn't so good that there is competition within the team for the Alex Tobin award.
Which is why the Phoenix have won it more than any other club.

We have won the Johnny Warren more times than anyone else, I think only Krishna has won the Alex Tobin.

There doesn't seem to be any team spirit in City at all. Just a bunch of individuals going through the motions and picking up their weekly wage packet. Got some obvious talent there but that is not nearly enough.
