Hmmm looks worryingly like Kaltak is now past his prime.
Sutton and Wootton were clearly kidding themselves that their moves to Perth were going to result in success and challenging for higher honours. 😬

AFC will grind out results but they look stodgy in attack. Cosgrove is a donkey....why did they recruit him. Rogerson should be starting IMO.
Any crowd numbers from Auckland?
The Nix performance against Perth was not a great indication for where we are at because Perth are not a good side. I guess we will have a better idea after the Roar game

14,767, pretty good for Labour Weekend. Between the tournament in Napier and the casuals wanting to head out of town, it was never gonna be huge.

Personally think Girdwood-Reich is the best centre back that has ever played in the A-League.
Don’t think it is up for debate either.

Three for me, and two for them.

Really strange he can't get minutes in the MLS. Surman has made the step up pretty easily.

Why are we not playing all A-league matches at stadiums like this? The atmosphere is awesome.
There's some shocker stadium's in the A-league (like the Roar's for example). These smaller grounds add so much to the atmosphere.

Most clubs don't have viable smaller options like this.
City would be much better playing out of Lakeside but South Melbourne holds the rights for the venue iirc, so no chance of that happening.
Roar fans are desperate for Perry Park to get an upgrade with the Olympics coming.

9k would be our biggest opening Home crowd since 2018.

Crowd was reported at 10,700, Sydney's lowest ever opening Home match in the ALM. Not sure if the venue choice was part of the reason, it isn't the best for fan experience and getting there according to Sydney fans. But man it looks great on TV.

Given the shark show last season, I think this was a fair crowd. I had hoped we’d see more but yeah, felt like a sub 8k crowd.

Macarthur vs Adelaide tonight, probably a good chance for the first away win of the season here.

12 games into the season and we have 9 Home wins & 3 Draws. Bit of a change after one of the highest % of Away wins ever last season.

..... and then somehow turns them into a team that cannot win a game.
A reverse "philosopher's stone" (turning gold into, well, not gold).
Apart from a few Glory stalwarts, they have plenty of decent ex-Nix players and more than a few of ex-Bitumens - and WU were an excellent team on the park in their day. No shortage of skill. It is a mystery.

why is it embarrassing? players come and go, if they choose to go to a new club for a new challenge so be it. It's more embarrassing for the players when they say they are leaving to win trophies with their new team and sit firmly on the bottom of the table.

Haven't really had the chance to watch Adelaide so far this season, so not sure what to expect vs AFC today. Hopefully it is another 4-4 thriller like last season.

Cosgrove opens the scoring. De Vries puts on a plate & Cosgrove heads it under the jumping Adelaide Keeper. 1-0

Sakai limps off, maybe a doubt for next Saturday? 0-0
Only following commentary for this one, but how'd that happen? Heavy challenge?
Just getting up and down the pitch. Didn't see anything nasty happen to him.
