Ends 1-1, fantastic result for a Victory B side
A-Leagues adventures in Asia (ACL & AFC Cup thread)
Sydney game ended 2-2
Uslan vs Sydney tonight, kicks off at 10pm I think. With the big Blue A-League Finals game on Sunday, both Sydney & Victory have sent weaker sides away on ACL duty this week.
Sydney lose 1-0 and are out of the ACL with 1 game left to play.
Good result for us. Let's get Ufuk to Wellington as soon as possible to starting working towards next season...
Victory playing very much a B team tonight
Daegu win 4-0
With 1 game left to play, Victory are on course to put in the worst ever performance by an A-League team in the ACL. All that Honda money was well spent ...
Sydney playing the kids tonight in their ACL game.
Absolutely new levels of AFC tomfoolery: Sydney FC just paraded the #aleague championship trophy on the pitch pre-game for #SYDvKAW.
— Vince Rugari (@VinceRugari) May 21, 2019
AFC officials actually put masking tape over the 'Hyundai' on the trophy at one stage. Sanity prevailed though and it was taken off.
Kawasaki win in a 4-0 drubbing.
Fitzgerald 90 mins for the winners and Tratt likewise for Sydney “B”.
Talay now free to join the Nix.
The only time an A-League team played a team younger than Sydney FC's team tonight was Melbourne Victory's 2005 Oceania Club Championship Qualifier. Youngest teams (average age):

20.70 years Melb Victory 2005 OCCQ
21.76 Sydney FC #SYDvKAW
21.83 Newcastle 2012-13 HAL (3-Mar-13)
Victory lose Muscat's swansong 1-3 to Sanfrecce. Victory played a very strong team, so losing to a team that has been struggling in their own league is a shock.
Didn't see the game but stats show that Vic had 65% possession.
They have just been conceding too many goals of late. Nine in their last two games. Limp way to end there season. Just as well for them that Muscat is on his way out.
AFC won't let the Nix qualify for the ACL but are happy to include us in AFC club rankings...

Last season's Nix would probably have beaten many, many of the 191 sides ranked above them.

What are they taking into account to calculate the ranking? How did we drop 55 places?

OK The ranking I got from ATK's Wikipedia page (Roy Krishna's new club)
Checking the link, it's not an official AFC ranking but on a website called footblldatabase.com

Seems pretty random but poor recent seasons before the last one did us in.
Looks like Aussie has lost that ACL spot, Tony P tweeted last night that only this seasons Premiers gets automatic entry into the ACL & the GF winners will have to qualify.
[Edit: whoops, had that around the wrong way]
Group H
Sydney FC
Yokohama F. Marinos
Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors
PO Winner
See Sydney come up against the Ange Postecoglou coached Yokohama F. Marinos. He took them from just missing a relegation play-off last season by goal difference to winning the J-League this year.
We are hearing that only half of the stadium is open for @PerthGloryFC's Asian Champions League home fixtures? Any clarification of this pls @tpignata9 ?
— The Far Post Perth (@Farpostperth) December 11, 2019
Yes it will be. East side only. https://t.co/6Dl1ZADmcl
— Tony Pignata (@tpignata9) December 11, 2019
It's the premier football comp in Asia.. Aust clubs don't seem to take it seriously at times, same as the fans. Disappointing especially as we are on the brink of losing a qualification spot. Maybe it's justified...?
— Blayne Treadgold (@BlayneTreadgold) December 11, 2019
We do take it very seriously but it is such a costly exercise as well. For example we need to have it as a clean venue which adds another $40k plus stadium charges. Therefore we need to save money by opening the East only.?⚽️ https://t.co/lKipipyfih
— Tony Pignata (@tpignata9) December 11, 2019
No it isn’t. Will save the club around $100k. If we get big crowds then of course we will open the whole stadium https://t.co/mmX19xJJAL

Victory vs Bali on the 21st January. Wonder when the ACL squad lists need to be in, they will want Marco on it. That could possibly be his first game.
Looks like its too late for Marco to be named in squads for the qualifying games. So he can't play unless they make the Group Stages.

Victory win 5-0, Kamsoba finally breaks his duck scoring the 5th
Victory play in Japan tonight
0-0 at half time.
Nabbout!! 0-1
Victory win away for their first time in the ACL and are into the Group stages
Confirmation that victories for @gomvfc ?? and @FCSEOUL ?? see them join Beijing FC ?? and Chiangrai United ?? in #ACL2020 Group E

Sydney vs Shanghai SPIG moved from 12th Feb to 29th Apr
Victory vs Beijing moved from 3rd Mar to 26th May
Makes sense, especially with the Chinese league having stopped due to outbreak.

Trying to see if any of those help us
Glory game is two days after their last match of the season against CCM on the 26th and before the finals. Perth will really want to finish their regular season in top two for a bye week, otherwise, I'm sure they are at least hoping top four to get a home elimination-final.
Sydney last game is away to City on the 26th as well. Think can confidently say they are first and will have a bye
Victory are lucky, they actually all wrap up the regular season the week before everyone else with last game against Snakes on 18th. Then there game on 26th is even after the finals series. If I was Victory management, I'd be arranging some friendlies just in case they end up with no games for a month.
Victory 1-0 up just before half time
Quite a lively game but not great quality.
Marco on, Nabbout chucks a tanty at being subbed off.
