Sydney take it 1-0, against a very under-strength Pohang side.

Sydney almost thru, in 1st place in their group with a 5 point lead over 3rd place with 2 games left.

Ended 1-1, with Kosta scoring the equaliser

In other ACL games, AFC Referee of the year Ben Williams gave a penalty for this

Ends 3-1. Suwon won their game, jumping ahead of Victory on GD with 1 game left to play.

Other results mean Sydney is thru to the next round even before they play Wednesday night at 10pm.

The standings are based on points, head-to-head, goal-difference and number of goals of the teams tied. So Victory are in 2nd.

Balls in the Victory's court then, win against Gamba and they are thru.

I wish the AFC would get rid of the rule forcing there to be a Western Asian zone and an Eastern Asian zone team in the finals. It makes the knockout stages kind of boring in my opinion, knowing that regardless of the quality in any given year in either of the zones it'll always be an Arab team vs an East Asian team. I'd love to watch an all-Japanese final, or an all-Australian final or two teams from rival nearby country; or even better, a derby in a final. This year it'll be Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid in the UEFA CL, awesome rivalry. Yet, hold up for the AFC final, a Qatari team vs a Japanese team... no thanks.
