Tokyo are really playing all the football, they must have done their research on the Roar

It's either that ACL rules state that you must have a different kit to your national league one, or the club are just trying to make some more money selling kits.

They seem to be playing loads of long balls, and their high pressing game just isnt evident

Dull stuff. Almost a relief that goal.

Roar will need to take it to them more in the 2nd half.

Well that was disappointing.

Yeah, well beaten in every department by a better team. Mind you, a lot of Roar players had poor games. Stefanuto and Adnan were dreadful.

Don't think I'll hang around to watch Adelaide.

I thought the games were going to be the other way around. Roar win and Reds lose. Bizarre stuff.

Anyone know how good the team CCM are playing tonight are?

"The Chinese Super League season doesn't start until this weekend, so it's fair to say Tianjin will be underdone in terms of match fitness. They've only played one official match this calendar year, and they lost it 2-1 to CSL champions Guangzhou Evergrande in the Chinese Super Cup on Saturday.

The goal they scored came late on through captain Wang Xinxin, and it was nothing but a consolation. Before that we have to look at the tail end of Tianjin's season to see how they went - they closed the CSL season with three consecutive losses, before beating Shandong Luneng 2-1 in the Chinese FA Cup final, which clinched their ACL appearance."

Hopefully CCM can get something out of the game...

Former home of Phoenix star Johnny Chen... Was that his name? Wish I had one of his old playing shirts to go with my Clebbo one.

How's my driving? - Whine here

They've played in the ACL before, these two. In 2009 CCM drew 2-2 away in China, then lost their home match 1-0.

JIANG Chen - he's still in the Tianjin's squad but never got any game time last season.

0-0 draw I see.

Guangzhou thrashed Jeonbuk away (i.e in Korea) 1-5.  Jeonbuk are one of the stronger Korean teams.

Adelaide did really well in Tashkent on a pitch that seemed made from sawdust. They were under the cosh in the last 20 but held their shape and parked the bus well once 2-0 up.

Carney looked decent for Bunyodkor but has finishing left a bit to be desired. Ramsay and Vidosic good for Adelaide, surprised Van Dijk only on for the last 10 so presume he is not fully fit.

The Tianjin v Mariners game was very even and a bit of a bore. A different Chen was the constant menace for Tianjin but Ryan did well, and finishing left a bit to be desired.

Eurosport UK commentators were rightly scathing of how useless Kwasnik and McBreen were up front. Ibini looked more lively but only came on with 10 to go. They were complementary of Amimi's vision but suggested his decision making needed some work.

Bojic had a shocker at right back. Sutton didn't see game time.

The Mariners seem to really be missing Simon, if Arnie is relying on Sutton, Kwasnik and McBreen then forget any chance of lifting the toilet seat.

Radelaide go up 1-0 against Gamba Osaka after 17 minutes. Looks like a very different Gamba side to what we have seen in previous years.

Finding all this a bit hard to believe. Reds 2-0 up already.

Make that 2-0! Adelaide strike again, with the head of Mullen scoring once again.

They did mention that half the team on the pitch is from Osaka's ACL winning team of 2008.

Ref seems a bit of a loose cannon. Almost Matt Gillett-ish absurdity there in booking Mullen for time wasting in the 35th minute after he had already taken the free kick.

HT 1-1

Roar's defence is a mess (Adnan the main culprit), yet at the other end they are cutting through Beijung Goan with ease and have missed at least four very good chances.

Roar's defence has been their weakness this season, they still seem to be missing de Vere.
