It will be interesting to see what sort if crowd AFC pull in tomorrow. No trains in Auckland for the whole of January. Buses running on Sunday timetable. I might give this game a miss. Dont fancy being stranded in Penrose waiting for non existent public transport
Public transport isn't non-existent. The 66 bus to Mt Albert is running every 15 minutes. Don't know about the Great South Road buses but I can't imagine they're less frequent.

Ticket sales looking slower than usual.
I’m usually really good at this, it will be around 12k I guess

12k would be incredible. Half the city is away and the other half is hungover.

Three for me, and two for them.

No. 70 runs between Britomart & Glen Innes every 20 mins. Then to Penrose. Also buses are replacing trains acc. to train timetables.

As much as I would like them to, I don't see Victory winning this. Then again, WU well and truly proved me wrong when I predicted an "inevitable AFC win," on the morning before that match.

I agree there are buses. My problem is bus capacity after the match to move potentially say 1000+ people to Britomart. The train replacement buses on the Great South Rd route leave Penrose at 7.25pm, 7.45, 8.05 and 8.25. Thats four buses, with 40 people per bus equals 160 total in the hour post match. I wont work!

WTF you really are a miserable cod fortunately most other fans arnt like you.  Have you forgotten your on a Phoenix fan forum  where we are allowed to post that sort of stuff. To the best of my knowledge we have never meet so not sure why you think you can make judgement on someone.
Given some of the shark you have posted over the years dont think your in any position to take the moral high ground.
Again  this is a PHOENIX fan forum  dont like it crawl back to your Auckland forums.

It's a nationwide problem due to decades of deferred maintenance and the sheer apathy from central government to rail. We can only hope that, in Auckland's case, this nonsense stops in 1 year's time when the CRL comes online.

Many on this thread will only pick you up if you say it’s central

Was a bit disappointed that they couldn’t create any real chances in that last ten with a lot of bodies forward and moving the ball well.

As well, Randell is still a step below the others on today’s evidence. Lots of Kiwis in this squad. Tommy Smith very composed and well positioned I thought.

Verstaete is mad fit. He seems to do everything Rufer does at twice the pace.

Did quite enjoy Duncan keeping them at bay early in the half too.

How do they not create more and better opportunities though?

Would take a draw against the third place team on the table. Think they will be the toughest challenge for the minor premiership

Good to get back on the clean sheet wagon again but need to get their shooting boots on against Perth.

The Vuck had a chance in like the last minute of regular time which curled just past Alex's far post

Frustrating game. Significantly better than the last game, in that AFC only booted useless long balls *half* the time, and the other half went back to the tight possession football that got them so many wins on the trot. I agree with the kudos for Verstraete and Jack Duncan (must have learned something from Alex last season lol), and Geria getting PotD for his runs down right wing is fair enough

AFC do some really good stuff. But when they get into the final third they do lots of dumb stuff. How many corners or set pieces hit their targets? Less than 10% IMO. DE Vries is a very good footballer. Verstraete is a beast. The guy must have 3 lungs

Good they both dropped more points today, keeps them within reach. Credit where it's due though, the crowd was outstanding (in numbers and vocally) and AFC play attractive football imo.

I think AFCs toothless attack might cost them down the road, especially in the playoffs.

Call me paranoid, many do: but I really think they are gradually ramping up the Black Knights branding in merchandising, ground announcements, etc., on a "boiling frog" principle.

De Vries, Verstraete, Brimmer & Gallegos are the driving force of this team. If these 4 last the distance they'll make the play-offs whoever else comes and goes. NB looks like Toomey's lost his place in the game day squad. And McKenley will lose his soon as Howieson is fit.

One of the few occasions where Sakai was adequate rather than outstanding.
Agreed that De Vries, Verstraete and Brimmer had a solid performance, Gallegos probably supporting rather than leading.  Good solid game, again, for Tommy Smith.
While I am a fan of Gillion, I can see what others meant by saying he does not often do much with the ball once he beats the next opponent; his final touch is sometimes questionable.
