Are they going to trust Pasfield in goal, or try to find a new keeper? I'd put money on them signing a new first choice keeper before the start of next season.

Apparently Ibini to China. Still don't know how he was linked to Lille. Sooo not ready for the big leagues. So many Aussies go over too early IMO

Isn't a done deal yet http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/centralcoastmariners/news-display/Ibinis-Shanghai-switch-incomplete/68203

As I put in the speculation thread, it seems he has been offered 400k a yr, free apartment, driver all just for 1 season. I can see why it would turn his head. He could grab the cash and still head over to Europe afterwards.

Most people thought he would head to Club Brugge with Ryan, as those two are great mates.

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Just read guys …. suffer toooooooooooooooooooo ….. gotta love the Mariners…

Every now and then … you can say that is a smart move and will help football not only on the Coast but Australia wide… last week another step was taken which fits this ie good for the Coast and good for Football in Australia.. You may recall a little way back I said a new private sporting school had opened on the Coast and it was to be a Football sports school…

Further part of our mission statement is to build youth academies and on sell players … we have the youth academies … last week we joined with the football school see article below… meaning we now have the Centre of Excellence for our training…. two youth academies from U 9 to U 18 in male and female teams…

Two things happen last week … Dutchie has been assigned to develop the academics in a similar way to Ajax… GA is to assist him in this…

Now we have our own Football school…..

Fark just look …

Best Training Facilities … in place …
Two Academies …. in place and under Mariner supervision…
Academy restructure … to be undertaken by Dutchie & GA to be modelled on Ajax…
Now …. Our own School …. see link and story below…
SOON …. We are very close to getting the stadium rights to Bluetounge … meaning we will control the Stadium plus all the above…

The link an story …. come on Fozzie you gotta give us some cred soon….

Central Coast Mariners take youth development to new level

A-LEAGUE champion club Central Coast has moved to shore up its already outstanding junior development program.

The club has signed what it describes as a landmark agreement to join forces with the International Football School.

Helped by the support of Central Coast Football, the Mariners and what will now be known as the International Football School Mariners Campus, will provide a raft of youth development programs it says will be based along the lines of those used by Spanish giant Bareclona and revered Dutch club, Ajax Amsterdam.

Under coach Graham Arnold, the Mariners have built a reputation around bringing in talented youngsters and giving them the chance at the elite level in the A-League. The likes of Mat Ryan, Bernie Ibini, Mitchell Duke, Mustafa Amini, Oliver Bozanic, Trent Sainsbury and Zach Anderson have thrived at the club.

Ryan, Ibini, Amini and Bozanic have already headed overseas to further their careers and the club hopes to povide a similar pathway to the A-League and W-League for the growing numbers of young players on the Central Coast.

Dutchman Patrick Zwaanswijk, who helped guide the Mariners to the championship last season before annoucing his retirement and is now head of the club’s Youth and Community program, said the initiative is a great opportunity for the youth of the region.

“This partnership is an exciting development not only for our club but for the kids of the Central Coast and Australian football in general,” Zwaanswijk said.

“It is going to put the club’s pathway on par with the academy’s of the major European and South American clubs.

“In Europe a key focus is on ball mastery and technique as well as attaining 10,000 hours of high quality training by expert coaches by the time the player turns 18. We are replicating European best practice by combining daily training at the IFS Mariners Campus with our thorough academy pathway and high intensity games.”

Former Mariners Andre Gumprecht and Brad Porter will be heavily involved working under the Mariners’ coaching umbrella which will also include ex-Matilda legends, Julie Dolan and Joey Peters.

As part of the Mariners new, aggressive approach to expand their community and development program Part of the Mariners program will also introduce after-school care football clinics, which will be run by former Mariners player Damien Brown.

Majority Mariners owner Mike Charlesworth, who took over the club under tough circumstances late last season, believes the club will continue to prosper because of “the unique program”.

“This is the first major development at the Mariners in my time as majority owner and I am proud that it is one that is unique to Australian football and will be a game changer for the sport,” Charlesworth said.

“We are implementing a world class model that will be the envy of every A-League club and we have set ambitious 10-year targets for the project.”

IFSMC chief executive Paul Chapman said it is hoped that by 2015 the school will cater for kids from Years 3 to 12.

                     Reddy??

Roux?? Anderson Sainsbury Rose

         Hutchinson Montgomery

      Wee Mac  Flores    Duke

                      Simon

That ain't half bad if CCM ends up like that. Still 2 more visa spots available, I'm picking one will be another centre back.

He is in China until Rnd 4. Morton is another option for RB and Roux hasn't been confirmed yet, hence the ??

Same with Reddy as keeper, tons of speculation but nothing official. Not a lot of love for Reddy by CCM fans but is miles better than Pasfield.

Lost 2-1 to their Academy side last night. It was their first hit out of the pre-season against an Academy side that has been playing in the NSWPL, so not sure how much you can take from the result.

Highlights here:

Hand of payne playing for the academy.

Sounds like Roux played most if not all of the game and SST were reporting that he will probably start for them this year!

Young kiwi Harry Edge on the bench for @CCMariners in their #aleague pre-season match tonight. Hearing he's signed a NYL contract

These academys are doing a great job of finding overseas spots for Kiwis (assume he's just come out of Ole?)

Harry Edge has just come out of Ole. Looks very much to me like Ole, APFA, WYNRS are producing better pathways than NZF/NTC/U17 World Cup/ASB. Someone may be able to do some sort of analysis on this.

Does he have an Aussie passport? Pretty sure the only way a Kiwi can play in the NYL is if they are on a senior contract, using one of the visa spots. CCM still have 1 visa spot open, so could be the plan to use it for him.
