It looks like he is trying to force the FFA's hand to strip him of the license, so he can sue them to regain some of the money he has lost.

The best thing the half dozen GCU fans can do is to stop turning up. Costing clive more money. It's a tricky one for them, but I actually think I'd stop going to games if I were them.

Allegedly

The sooner the Chinese bubble bursts and slobs like Palmer are on the scrap heap, the better.

MAN THE HARPOONS... WHITE WHALE HOLY GRAIL. etc...

I think he has a mental disorder as well as an eating disorder.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

It will deflate slowly rather than burst.

I'm hearing rumours that Miron has walked on the club.

Anyway, I am going to make my yellow banner say something anti-Clive for the game against GCU. Can't be anything offensive as Red Badge won't let it into the ground if it is. Any thoughts?

I reckon this debacle is up there with the Terry Serepisos saga.

Was thinking this earlier today. Be good to see him stay in the A League.

Might end up coaching your lot!

Terry had no money, but he loved the club. Palmer couldn't hold a candle to Terry.

This. Despite how messy things got towards the end, Terry will always be remember as the legend who single-handedly kept professional football alive in this country, and poured millions into the team for as long as he possibly could.

Palmer, on the other hand, seems to be single-handedly trying to destroy his football team. I would imagine that the way GCU fans feel about Palmer and the way Nix fans feel about Terry couldn't be more different.

You'd be mad to draw a comparison to Serepisos & Palmer.

He's pissed at not entering the all important ACL & giving his business interests the exposure he was in this thing for in the first place.

Wouldn't rule out Sydney either.

I meant more the drama circling the club, and what will happen next.  Not comparing the people at the helm of nix and GCU cause like you said Terry Loved the nix, Clive wants to destroy his..

Someone mentioned Palmer's behaviour could be deliberate. It seems appalling that he would be that devious but the more you look at it the more the whole thing starts to look like a premeditated plan to scuttle the club.

When I first heard the rumours that Palmer was doing this deliberately to get the FFA to strip his licence, I thought they were utter nonsense. All I could think was that couldn't be true, because who on earth would be that much of a twat. But the more farcical this becomes, the more likely it seems. Sad really.

Clive is a horrid man.  I like Gold Coast, and Miron has good one liners.  Sad to see him go.

Hope a new team comes in for Gold Coast for next season. Would love to see a second kiwi team but even Canbera, another Sydney team or Hobart would be OK. If they plan to do this it needs to start ASAP. Sooner Clive is gone the better. rjmiller2012-02-20 11:17:10

It'll be Western Sydney, like it should have been all along. Needed to set one up there before NQ, GC, and Heart.

Find someone with cash to back it, then give TonyP a ring. If anyone knows how to get a club up and running fast, he does.

GCU has a great youth team, its a shame we can't pinch them and have a youth team.

I just started another thread about a possible Western Sydney team based on this article. Seems like that's definitely a possibility at least

Clive Palmer @CliveFPalmer

I like soccer but dislike how it's run. Overpaid FFA execs also giving Fox Sports cheap TV rights. Free-to-air TV should be able to bid

Amusing to see our old friend Chris Tanner going in to bat for Clive as well.  A man who knows his Business (Football Agent) so well that the Fever managed to complete research about a player ghe was spruiking in an hour better than he and his company did.

Bet Clive enjoys the approval of such a business genius.
