Good news - if confirmed - that Zahra hasn't torn any legaments. I really really really hope for him it's a nasty bruise and he got a hell of a fright. That'd be peaches compared with what could have been.

Re: Musc**t. How can people defend him? Of course we're all jumping on the bandwagon. What else has he done for football? Sure, he was an OK centre back, but so what? aren't we all? How many good CB's are there in the world who will play football for 20 years??

The fact is that he's made hurting people his distinguishing feature. Apart from ending that dude's career he was involved in other incidents in which he came close (e.g. vs Christoph Dugarry).
And what about his filthy cheating, did you see the game the other day? How did EXACTLY MVC score? And his diving and fighting with opposition coaches?

And he's renowned for shouting "leave it" during games. I guess that's not so bad.

My conclusion is that I really think he deserves a good lynching (in the media) because he is a violent individual and a cheater. There's no bandwagon to jump on, it's FACTS that push people to express how they feel about him.

Made me laugh how he did the hail mary (or relgious thingy some players do when they come on the field) as he left.

Strangely enough, he never once did that when he was playing for Rangers

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

jst looking for it now

edit-
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3368038/Kevin-Muscat-shocker-Is-this-footballs-worst-ever-foul.html

looks like the a-league is getting world wide exposure from it

also

http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/3369350/Muscat-is-facing-the-boot.html

seems a bad thing for a-leagues exposure and the 'australian thugish game'

Surprised the Brittish Tabloids didn't run with something like "Australian Rules Football?" or something as their headline for those articles...

That's called "the sign of the cross".  The Hail Mary is a prayer.  I wonder how many players have any clue what they are doing and how many do it because it is trendy.  Another bandwagon to jump on I suppose.

That's right. The Hail Mary is what that tackle was called.

Cantona forever your username and signature destroy any credibility you may of had before jumping to Muscat's defence.

Jog on.

Three for me, and two for them.

Are you really that desperate to hear what's happening to him?

Perhaps you could quote the part of my post defending Muscat's challenge.  My point is that the kneejerk reactions on this thread, part of the lynch mob bandwagon mentality, were devoid of perspective and clear thinking.  I have never defended his tackle.  But nor do I feel it necessary to compare Muscat to the great war criminals of the last 100 years as some of you would like to.

I am very curious to see the outcome of the MRP. I want to see if they have the guts to do what they should have done a long time ago.

MRP decision will be made easier if Victory lose tonight.
Then a season ending band will not be seen as to effect the finals.

I hate muscat but I can see the defense of him saying I was going for the ball and missed it. Clumsy but it could work.

The ball was only just in the camera shot from memory!

Allegedly

Yeah, Zahra had knocked the ball forward a bit and I think Muscat realised he was done and chopped him.

I mean, the 'I only just missed the ball' excuse doesn't work so well when you're flying in at knee height.

So Much This!

It also means that if the Tards lose then they can hint that not having Muscat was the reason for the result too!

Yeah Bufffy, that's what I meant.

Jeez, his kid makes a joke about practising Muscky tackles and he gets all serious on him. FFS, mate.

Anyways, still no word on his punishment...will let you know as soon as I do...

I'm hoping "life with no chance of parole". However I'm expecting however many weeks are left in the season for the Trads and then he hangs up the boots.

Its no longer a problem.

8 weeks is the minimum he should have got for that tackle.  So while more would be better it's a passable decision in my books.  A fitting end to the career of an absolute thug. loyalgunner2011-01-27 23:21:18
