Gee what a surprise the Nix are going okay so instaed of all the doom and gloom about the owners wanting to sell or the nix getting kicked out due to bad results. They focus on the coach leaving despite him stating on numerous occasions that he has signed for 2 years and is only just starting to get things where he wants.

Would be very dissapointed after some of the things he has said if he walked away from us,wouldnt really say much about him and if i was a fan of his new club would it really fill me with confidence about his committement.

Fully aware there is little loyalty shown at times in football but really some of the stuff i have seen from some people.

Agree with the first paragraph but not the second. The moment you discuss someone else's integrity "just in case if", well, the slippery slope of doubt begins right there.

Why are we even raising it as a hypothetical question. This is just buying into what the media said, and all they do is mess with our heads while trying to attract clickbait to their website.

Mark Rudan could end it by answering a simple question he's twice avoided: Will he be at the club next year?

Exactly, don't be surprised if he goes if the right offer comes along.

Thinking the same. He likes a challenge, and Western Melbourne is certainly that. He may think he has taken us as far as we can go.

Job isn't finished here yet so some of you expect him to walk away. Not so sure the Welnix guys would just roll over if a contract is in place. As for answering it he has yet still the question gets asked maybe he is just PO that some people just ask the same crap all the time.

I think history shows that they always do roll over. Plenty of angst shared on that subject in the forum.

Lets be honest NZ football got lucky that Ricky was an ambitious coach, whatever you think of him. Him and crickets at dusk as far as anyone breaking through keen to coach the Nix. Need academy coaches too?

I think likes of Figueira, Buckingham, Greenacre, Ramon & Danny Hay would all love to be a full time coach of a pro outfit. Maybe even crazy Declan. They just don't have the right badges at the moment.

I've had it with SBS. Running these sharkty stories isn't journalism, it's completely disingenuous.

That first story was about when Rudan left out cacace from the match day squad. Because, you know. He had an exam. But no, that's in fact Rudan taking a swipe.

Second story had no substantiated facts other then west Melbourne group were supposedly interested. The words "poised to lead" and "firming as the head coach" are in no way synonymous for "Rudan is under contract next season and has offered no indication that he is interested yet"

Third story is taken from Domey or Rob Morrison (can't recall which one) saying we would like to bring his family out so he can stay long term. No hint of desperation in Robs earlier comments of saying they are confident he will be here next season.

Seriously SBS. This is dogshark, up your game and cut the anti nix agenda

Is it an anti nix agenda, or just poor reporting?

Does SBS release loose stories on all 10 A League teams, not just Wellington?

none of these are opinion pieces Leggy, they're all stating their claims as facts. Which is doesn't exactly scream journalistic integrity. You can't take one piece of information and report it as another to fit a narrative

If and I repeat IF [SBS often run BS articles to suit their agenda] .. SBS have run negative articles about the Mariners from day 1, even when we were winning they found fault..

But if true it sucks dicks ...

As an aside SBS are pushing very hard to get Craig Foster onto the FFA board and he is no friend of you guys ..

RM  “He's on a two-year contract, so he won't be at Western Melbourne," a bullish Morrison told Fairfax.

“They have to find a coach for the start of next season and one thing about Rudes is he's a very honourable, straight-up guy. I've got no issues, no worries there."

While none of us want it, don't be surprised if he goes. This is sport guys, plenty of examples of this happening and remember, when asked point blank - Rudan refused to refute the rumours.

I see Rudan going, but not after this year and not to Western Melbourne. I see him doing the two years and then going to the new Sydney team. I see Sydney being his preference.

We have an empty squad for next season. If Rudan is not planning on being here then he should let us know asap. Look at WSW - both their last 2 coaches inherited squads they weren't happy with.

By this logic, the Phoenix owners shouldn't have publicly said they weren't looking to sell the club after rumours said they were.

This guy seems very close to the bid, though obviously Rudan wouldn't want to announce anything (if he *was* leaving) until the end of the season.

It doesn't make much season to me, as Melbourne is still not in Sydney and his kids would still need to relocate. The Macarthur team makes a lot more sense. In saying that, everyone told Rudan not to come to the Nix too..

Live notes:

Rudan: change in culture was an important factor, "I had to understand Wellington", values and principles. We did a lot of work on understanding who we are and who we want to be.

Was that missing in the past?

Maybe. Perceptions can be reality a lot of the time. We have to behave a certain way. I saw a team that was pretty broken on and off the park.

Are you bringing a holistic view into the team?

True, good observation. We need competition for places, especially younger players - Rufer, Fenton, Cacace, etc. Krishna needs to start hitting some of those penalties.

We want to finish in the top 4.

How will playing at Eden Park be different?

It's the home of rugby but we play on a mobile pitch at Westpac anyway. We've sold 14,5000 tickets, I've been told. MVFC are a team we love to take on and beat.

Are NZ as a whole backing the Nix?

I hope so. Beautiful country - small population, but togetherness. Lots of bandwagon jumping, nothing wrong with that. Lots of support from the whole country and we do represent the whole country.

Will we make the finals?

I don't look too far ahead, I live in the moment. It's not just the finals - having a home final is a target we'd want to recreate.
