no, that's what makes the rivalry somewhat boring. melbourne heart fans are just people who didn't support the victory for whatever reason.

I wondered the same thing for a long time, but they both play at the same park and its not like either of them are named, for example, South Melbourne Heart or anything else that would be indicative of representing another area.

So I really dont see why you would be a Victory supporter and then switch to the Heart a few months later. If another Wellington franchise came about next season (for arguments sake only of course) named the Wellington Stallions or whatever, and played at the ROF, Id stay a Phoenix supporter, as Im sure most of us would. Why would you not?

to be fair the majority of them aren't victory converts, they're simply people who didn't support the victory and now are jumping on the heart pretending they've always hated the victory.
check out the heart forums, they spend literally half their time justifying their existence and explaining how they're different to the victory.
