I think Heart are going to get embarrassed here.

Will be interesting. The whole Villa thing is doing MC team morale no good at all. I still think there is a decent side there if they can put away their chances.

Don't worry Jeff, there's plenty of time for it to all fall apart. They do look up for it tonight though.

Should the term be Williams'esque or Brockie'esque?

If only Brockie could put away a penalty like that.

Zelic is out of his depth as a colour man.

Although I would have him over Heremia. Had the displeasure of hearing our Harry couple weeks ago. My word!

That's not a penalty for me. It looked one live but it's not like Redmayne can really get out of the way though. Also if that is a foul then it is also a red.

If a defender slid in making a tackle, missed the ball and got the man it would be a foul.

Pen in my book.

Kid made the most of it but Redmayne got nothing.

I sort of agree with you but in today's football that's going to be a penalty 99 times out of a 100. It's all about that dreaded word 'contact'. Even though Redmayne was clearly almost flinching from the contact the ref is practically obliged to give it.

Weird tactics from City to stick Kisnorbo up front and bang it long for the last ten minutes. Didn't even get them close.

They need Robert Koren fit.  He'll be a very good player

Stilll got a horrible back line. And despite what Garth Morgan says, defence wins games.

Flappi, Ramsey, Wielaert & Kisnorbo are all off contract at the end of the season. They have a chance to fix that in the off season. Maybe try to get Good & DeVere to come home and then sign an actual left back.

Despite all City's money, they still are not using their full 5 visa spots. That is a damning indictment of their recruitment.

Re: the penalty - I think people have this feeling that penalties have to be worse fouls because they create such a good goal-scoring chance, but that's bs. A foul is a foul anywhere on the pitch, the only difference is that if it's in the box it's a penalty, not a free kick. If someone lunged for the ball, missed it, and impeded an opponent as a result anywhere else on the pitch it would be a free kick, so if a keeper does it in the box it's a penalty. As galling as it is that the striker might not do everything he can to avoid it, that's really irrelevant. There doesn't have to be contact for it to be a foul anyway.

I'd say the one thing that was wrong with that call was the yellow card. To me, that was a careless challenge, not a reckless one. And he didn't appear to be doing it to deliberately so not unsporting behaviour. THe defence had it covered afterwards  too so no red card for the goal-scoring opportunity.

Perth vs Newcastle, should either be lots of goals or a snore feast. Perth are not looking to bad at the moment and Newcastle look avg. Perth 5-1.

I reckon Newcastle might snatch a win or draw here

Ben Williams back as ref after being dumped from all games last week for his piss poor performance.

I wonder how many yellow/red cards he will dish out tonight?

I have a bet on Perth winning with both teams scoring. Can't see the jets getting in Perth's half let alone scoring
