Melbourne City have a full roster for the season, so only possible way is via a guest stint. Next season it might happen tho.

Best name ever. It roughly translates to dicksfire in Italian.

Signing for the Victory instead

So can we assume as an injury replacement for Archie?

Since Archie is out for up to 12 weeks, obviously not.

Could Man City sign Brattan and then loan him to City?

Or does that still come out of Melbourne's salary cap?

City have a full 23 man squad. Would require the FFA to allow him as a guest player for 14 weeks.

if he is signed by city, with most of Europe's leagues transfer windows closed, can he be registered - even if loaned out to another European club?

Given the nature of the dispute, he might ask them to backdate the free transfer but no idea if that has happened.

Surely he could ask it to be backdated only to the point where they stopped honouring the contract?

That can be done?

They can transfer the player at any time I assume but can only register a player during the transfer window (I suppose like Barca who have brought in a couple of guys but because of their transfer embargo, can't register them until Jan). I have heard of some players being able to be registered after the transfer window closes because the transfer could not be completed for some circumstances but the transfer process had started before the window closed. I am not sure if there are different rules for loaning players, and some countries do have different windows and/or rules regarding free transfers - so players not transferred from a club can be registered after the window closes.

My knowledge of this is based mostly on FM :P

In contract disputes it can happen afaik. They backdated some of the Jets players who were sacked last season, so they could change A-League clubs.

Corona, eh? So he'll be an overpriced ineffectual import but heaps of people in this part of the world will inexplicably think he's classy?

That is so messed up.

He's england-born, does that qualify him for "homegrown" status in England? If yes, that would go a long way to explaining such an odd signing.

Otherwise all the Kiwis are out of work or trying their luck overseas.

You'd think that most of our imports would have opportunities in Australia if they want to hang around.
