Mario Shabow to CCM on a two year deal.

I've heard good things about him, but he's been club-hopping like crazy. Has anyone seen him play?

https://www.ccmariners.com.au/news/mariners-land-m...

He has been the next big thing for the last 3-4 years but has never manged to crack the first team at WSW or Jets. Maybe the CCM move will give him a decent shot at first team football.

The Central Coast Mariners have wasted no time in sourcing a replacement for Alan Baro in the heart of defence, lining up former Reading defender Kalifa Cisse.

Cisse, 34, is currently free agent after leaving Thai League 1 club BEC Tero Sasana, the club which Mike Mulvey took charge of during the 2017 season before he returned to Australia to take the reins at the Mariners.

Melbourne City are on the cusp of their first major coup of the off-season, winning the battle to bring boom youngster to Danny De Silva to the club.

The World Game reported that City had won the race for De Silva last week but in a new twist, they have been unable to fit the 21-year old’s wages into the salary cap and have declined to make the Australian under-23 representative a marquee.

City were essentially hamstrung by the fact that De Silva’s registration is still held by AS Roma, who have been paying the young star the bulk of a contract thought to be worth well over $500,000.

And the DDS transfer saga gets murkier. In July last year CCM said they held his registration and isn't on loan.

An overseas Aussie coming back to the A-League, no idea who. Probably not Spiranovic tho, sounds like the Victory are chasing him.

Victory making room for Spiranovic?

I have no idea what this is about, cannot find the C9 report anywhere.

Michael O'Halloran increasingly close to signing for Melbourne City, deal being reported to go through in the next day or so.

I'd imagine he'll be a good A-League player, hasn't quite made it at Rangers, but was tearing it up in Scotland before that.

I hate the man with a passion, but I'm strangely quite saddened at this news. Like it or not, he's an a league legend and his name is synonymous with pro footy in aussie. A real character of the league that I'll kinda miss in the new season

He now has his Aussie citizenship, so counts as a +1 in Asia.

Mulvey brushed of questions about De Silva: "Danny wasn’t here today, he’s been given a couple of extra days off… no problem."

"We’ve got a couple of players in the pipeline that we’re talking to at the moment and we’ll be able to give you some exciting news in the coming days I think," he said.

NEWCASTLE Jets coach Ernie Merrick believes Broadmeadow flyer James Virgili has earned a chance to revive his A-League career with the club after inviting the 25-year-old to be part of their July 4-10 pre-season tour of China.

Virgili, who last played in the A-League on January 3, 2015 when Newcastle drew 0-0 with Sydney, will feature as a trialist in an 18-man squad set to be announced next week for games against Chinese Super League clubs Beijing Guoan and Shanghai Shenhua in Haikou.

Later on, Ernie also says he looked at him when he was coaching the Nix but it didn't happen for some reason.

I have nfi if this rumours account is reliable, so take with a pinch of salt.

The last promising young winger to leave the Victory after not getting enough game time is now in the starting 11 at a World Cup Finals just a couple of years later...
