I thought you couldn't play trialists in the FA cup?

This was in the Surf City Cup game from last night.

Harry Sawyer was on trial with Sydney but obviously didn't pick up a deal. I think that other trialist might be Jacob Esposito

City sign 5 more Scholarship players and appear to have promoted two of their Scholarship players to Senior deals.

Another addition to the retirement village in Geelong.

Sounds like they are gonna use him as a striker.

Hope so, looks terrible. Also looks like they have signed or at least are trialling Liam Rose, former Mariners defensive midfielder
Annual finals disappointment enthusiast.

Good luck with that, he certainly ain't one. He hasn't really played serious football in 10 years, although he was back in the top Croatian division this season, but for a team that hasn't won a game in the league yet (after 7 rounds).

I really don't understand WU logic with this signing a 34 y/o only playing 190 games in his career and only getting 36 goal contributions in not so great leagues.

I really like Meier but has had some injury issues last couple of seasons. Keeps in really good shape and even given his size, he's a big boy, can play as a 10 or 9 and was (is?) a pretty good athlete. Was Bundesliga top goal scorer a few seasons back and a Frankfurt legend. Scores some really good goals.

Lot of old legs in that XI. Will be interesting to see how they cope over a whole season...

Average age of the possible starting 11 is 31 - oldest in A-league history?

Older teams generally do better in this league, so probably not a bad plan from Snakeman.
