Marcus Younis is likely to be on his way from WSW. Was hoping the Dons were going to win the race, but sounds like it's going to be PSV via a loan at Hamburg.

PSV have links to Adelaide & there has been plenty of rumours of Younis to Adelaide in the last 6 months. Will we have to wait and see PSV with a sign him over the weekend and loan to Adelaide now the Caceres rule is effectively removed.

After a rocky start, I think it is time to admit that Nick Lennon seems to be a reliable sauce now.

Lewis still has a contract. He is on a 'No Fault Stand Down', so can't be released without agreeing to it.

Yep, but he hasn't been training with the team and isn't on their website so fairly safe to say that he's not in their plans, they may even be anticipating that he's guilty and will eventually release him.

I'd imagine if he does get off that the PFA will have something to say.

WSW had a forum Tuesday night & their CEO denied they were signing Juan Mata.

Someone on the A-Leagues Reddit claims City are signing Yonatan Cohen. Given the current climate, I'm not sure how their fans will react to that.

Do City have a bit of a Jewish fan base? They are based in South East Melbourne, not far from the heavy Jewish areas of Caulfield, Malvern etc.

Even if they dont, Cohen may not outwardly support what his government are doing and shouldnt be tarnished by their actions. Unless he comes in waving an Israeli flag at game I'd let him be.

Funny how the league's move away from big marquee signings and becoming more focused on youth development only lasted 1 season - for some teams anyway

Nick Lennon reckons Mata is getting $350k for the season. They just loaned Younis out for $80k, so haven't broken the bank for this one.

Sydney used the cash they got from their sales to fund the Costa signing. They are rich enough that they don't need to sell players to fund the day to day running like we do. So can splash out on a bigger signing.

WSW made a little mistake in this tweet - they list him as a Euro 2024 winner, but he wasn't part of the squad. He did win Euro 2012 though

Edit: I guess they are just trying to @ the official Euros account who's handle is currently @Euro2024 - does make it look like they are saying he won Euro 2024 though

He's brought some good social media engagement. On the A-league instagram announcing his signing the post got 79k likes (last I checked) which is more than Costa who got 56k

Great player, but's he's ancient at 36, and played just 10 mins in total at Vissel Kobbe in J1 last year. Admittedly only joined them in June 2023 from Turkey, but still a bit of a flop in Japan.

How old was Del Piero when he destroyed us in Sydney?

Jan 2013 with his 4 goals. So he would have been 38.
But ADP came to SFC direct from Serie A, with his own physio/fitness coach. You can afford that when on $2M per season

Will be all about what condition Mata's body is in I'm guessing. He hardly played in Japan because he was injured? Hence looks like WSW have got him cheap

Lol- didn’t even know he was in Japan! Usually I’ll see foreign marquees on ads somewhere. Podolski, Xavi etc etc
