ADELAIDE United outcast Spase Dilevski looms as Ange Postecoglou's first Melbourne Victory signing.

The former Australian youth international will sign a one-year deal with Victory and is expected to join the squad for pre-season next week.

Dilevski, 27, made 12 appearances for United (including seven starts) but struggled to command a regular first-team spot after signing from Romanian club Universitatea Craiova at the start of last season.

Though played primarily as a holding midfielder with United, the skilled Dilevski has played much of his football at right back and will provide competition to Matt Foschini after Matthew Kemp's recent retirement.

Melbourne-born Dilevski spent his teens at PSV Eindhoven and Tottenham before signing with Brisbane Roar for the inaugural A-League season.

Assuming Harry Kewell stays, Dilevski's capture leaves five spots on Victory's roster after the departures of Ante Covic, Grant Brebner, Carlos Hernandez and Kemp.

Three of those are set to be filled by visa players, with Postecoglou still overseas searching for signings.

Defenders Adama Traore (Gold Coast) and Sam Gallagher (Central Coast) were signed in the last weeks of Jim Magilton's tenure, as was Julius Davies after several years in Germany.

Pre-season training starts next week, with Postecoglou due back in Australia this week.

Didn't really impress me last season but if he is any good at right back, it is another we have missed out on.

Anyone heard of Jonathon Bru? New Victory signing. Must be decent for Ange to sign him.

Played for all the French age group sides before declaring for Mauritius.  Played mostly in Portugal.

Hmmm... I really hope he isn't another Thomas Broich.

Well, he isn't German.

(and he hasn't played at the level Broich did) but should be interesting to see how he goes.

Melbourne Victory today confirms that it has signed Brazilian midfielder, Guilherme Finkler, on a two-year deal.

Most recently Finkler played with ABC Futebol Clube after he was loaned out by Criciuma, a team in Brazil’s second division. While the attacking midfielder has spent the majority of his professional career playing in Brazil, in 2006/07 he tried his hand in Europe, spending the season at English Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers after impressing on a pre-season tour of Spain.

26 yrs old, more clubs than Tiger Woods and doesn't seem to be much data on how many games he has played. Has Ange picked up a lemon? Wouldn't have thought Ange would go for a dodgy Brazilian.

Newcastle Jets have agreed to release Nikolai Topor-Stanley, after the defender recieved an offer to play for another as yet unnamed club.

The Jets have revealed that they reached a mutual decision with the long-time defender, and said they didn't want to stand in the player's way to pursue a new chapter at another club.

Another one for the Unicorns I guess.

Melbourne Victory coach Ange Postecoglou is hoping for a Godsend after tabling an offer to Greece-based Spanish midfielder Juan Jesus Gutierrez.

Liberian International Patrick Nyema Gerhardt will be announced next week as Melbourne Heart‘s first pre-season signing, with his manager Mirsad Keric confirming a 2 year deal had been tabled and accepted.

Both look reasonable signings if they do happen.

Will be interesting if he plays in the UK. He hardly stood out here, it might give us an indication of how the A-League compares to the UK. You would think he could probably pick up a Championship gig.

Do the tards have any other CB? Sounds a bit unlikely to me but I guess Ange only briefly hesitated gutting the roar when he first started.

Victory were looking at using their last import slot on a defender, so would be surprised if they did let Princess go.
Melbourne Victory is delighted to announce that is has signed promising Australian youngster, Theo Markelis, on a two-year deal.

Having moved to Spain at the age of just 15 to join La Liga giants Valencia, the now 20 year-old striker spent last season in Italy with Vicenza, before deciding upon a move home to Melbourne after his contract with the 1997 Italian Cup winners expired.

It's been a busy day on the transfer front

The Newcastle Jets have today signed Swiss defender Dominik Ritter to a one-year contract.

Ritter has been playing for FC Winterthur since 2009/10. Prior to this, the 23 year-old came through the system at FC Basel, where he played in their Under 21’s team and then also for the first team squad.

“Dominik can play as fullback, which is his preferred position, or a left side stopper,” coach Gary van Egmond explains.

Those are the sort of signings I would have expected for us - import fullback.

Although he's primarily a LB, transfermarkt says that he can play RB as well, and of course CB too. Damn it, chalk that up as a missed opportunity. (Unless of course he turns out to be poo, in which case bullet dodged)

He benched in the 2nd division in Switzerland last season.  No gurantee at all that he's better than Downey or Lia.

Downey used to bench in the 2nd division in Holland which based on the completely un-verified system of comparing the national teams is clearly better than the Swiss 2nd division.

Melbourne Victory is delighted to announce that 2010/11 Johnny Warren Medallist, Marcos Flores, has signed a two-year deal as the club’s International Marquee player.

Guess Marco is gonna be a winger against this year. I wonder if they have an Aussie defender lined up, Ange was looking to use his last import slot up at the back.

MV are starting to look a very good side. Still we said that last year about some sides who had recruited well and finished up being crap. But something tells me that with Postacoglu running the show they will do well.

This could be a huge year for Marco. I think he will respond well to being coached by Postacoglu. if he does well then he could be like Kosta and get a call from an overseas club
