Not sure how many Kiwi/Oz central defenders are still floating around, if Donachie becomes available I would sign him up.

He is 33 (34 in January)  now and I tend to think the way we play now would suit him a lot more than his previous stint, but I think the age thing makes it very unlikely for us unless it is bargain basement last minute stuff. It is kind of against Ernie's philosophy

Would Donachie be happy to come and sit on the bench though? Or would he be part of a back three?

At the moment, his preferred formation with Fenton as a wide right just went out the window so.....

We still need another CB either way. If either one of Dura or Siggy goes down we're stuffed.

They have experience as well so if they had some foresight and signed a 2-3 year deal looking at the age of Dura and Sigmund, then they may not be bench material for long and playing in a stable environment.

Or from the players point of view, what teams have suspect and/or aging CBs and have stable owners. We fit the bill (age of CBs, not suspect) so I would have thought we would be a smart move for any decent CB that is nervous at their current club.
