CCM & WSW played last night (CCM won 3-2), with both teams fielding a number of trialists

CCM: Lachlan WALES, Francesco STELLA, Daniel McFARLANE, Trent BUHARGIAR, Adam BERRY, Dan HEFFERNAN, Jake ADELSON

WSW: Josh Macdonald, Lachlan Campbell, Cohan Morris, Jonthan Grozdanovski, Mario Shabow

Did enough to pick himself up as 1 year NYL deal.

Thwaite left out of the FFA Cup squad for tomorrows game despite being fit, along with being stripped of the captaincy lends weight to those rumours of him leaving.

City re-sign Mooy, moving him to a marquee deal

Wonder if we will see him pop up in the A-League?

Rumours of Thwaite to the Roar, guessing it might not happen until the ownership thing is sorted out.

Jets playing a trial game tonight, no De Vries in the squad. Guessing that its unlikely he will get a deal then.

Not sure how many Kiwi/Oz central defenders are still floating around, if Donachie becomes available I would sign him up.

Kinda afraid that this Aussie CB we were chasing is North tbh. Both them leaving would explain the Thwaite rumours.

He is 33 (34 in January)  now and I tend to think the way we play now would suit him a lot more than his previous stint, but I think the age thing makes it very unlikely for us unless it is bargain basement last minute stuff. It is kind of against Ernie's philosophy

Would Donachie be happy to come and sit on the bench though? Or would he be part of a back three?

At the moment, his preferred formation with Fenton as a wide right just went out the window so.....

We still need another CB either way. If either one of Dura or Siggy goes down we're stuffed.

Any of those three would be happy to play for us, because we pay on time!

^this.

They have experience as well so if they had some foresight and signed a 2-3 year deal looking at the age of Dura and Sigmund, then they may not be bench material for long and playing in a stable environment.

Or from the players point of view, what teams have suspect and/or aging CBs and have stable owners. We fit the bill (age of CBs, not suspect) so I would have thought we would be a smart move for any decent CB that is nervous at their current club.

Seems Mature Age Rookies are outside the 23 man squad limits, as well as their wages not being included in the cap.

Seems Roma couldn't register De Silva (something about import restrictions?), so they have arranged for Roda to loan him for 2 seasons and intend for him to sign for them after that period.
