Round 27 - Race for the Plate

Brisbane (47 pts) is sitting in pole position but face the Victory at Amy Parks, a venue they have a very poor record at.

Adelaide (46 pts) has a tricky away fixture against a City side that always impresses at home.

WSW (45 pts) will go into their game against us knowing if its still possible to lift the Plate.

City (44 pts) have a mathematical chance for the title and will need other teams to help them out if they are to walk away with the title.

Just imagine how much drama this round would have been with concurrent kick offs ...

I reckon the Premiers Plate will be heading to Western Sydney.

I reckon MooyBruno City to win 2-1.

Should be a humdinger. Wouldn't mind seeing MC lift the toilet seat.

Isaias with a free kick to open to scoring, 0-1

That was an absolute cracker.

Penalty for Adelaide.

Wow that is one of the most staggeringly stupid fouls I've seen in a long time. Sorensen should be ashamed of himself.

Djite converts 0-2 just before the break. Brain snap by Sorensen

Fight, fight, fight!

For a keeper of his pedigree he makes a lot of blunders amongst the good saves. Velaphi would probably done much the same job at a quarter of the price.

great banter in the tunnel at half time

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

WSW fans sitting at home cheering for a City fight back. That half time scrap might fire up City, they have the firepower to get themselves back into the game.

City's GK coach sent off, Mauk & Novillo with slices of cheese for the scuffle in the tunnel.

This is an amazing run by Adelaide

Last place after Round 8 with 3 points, I even think Adelaide fans were starting to question Amor's appointment.

Amor out was very real, as was the fact that the season was written off at that point. Their highest goal scorer was own goal and most importantly they didn't look like they knew what they were doing.

Galekovic coming back and Malik getting hurt seemed to be the factors that turned their season around. Hall was a liability and Elsey stepped up big time in defence.

Wtf was Izzo thinking?

Permalink Permalink

Izzo knocked out in the process of conceding a goal in the opening minute. Being subbed off as I type. 0-1

0-2, CCM cut apart again.

Permalink Permalink

They might be 2-0 down but CCM actually look the better side, apart from the two mistakes.

CCM given a dodgy penalty, Fabio makes it 1-2. CCM back into the game now.

Records broken this season/in this Derby by CCM:

First team in A-League history to go through an entire season without keeping a clean sheet

6 - Now the most goals in an #F3Derby, eclipsing 5 goals set in December 2005.

First team in A-League history to concede four goals in three consecutive matches

On the back of a record number of goals scored in the A-League by Melb.City (63), CCM concede a record 70.

Also

Worst goals conceded per game ratios

2.65 goals/game Canberra Cosmos 1996/97

2.59 CCoast 2015/16

2.58 Heidelberg 93/94

Sydney 2.0 up against Perth.

Sydney are a much better side than the table shows them, but not consistent enough

Ended up 4-0 and Sydney were the much better side.
