Theo has just been sent off for McGowan getting an elbow while trying to rugby tackle Theo from behind while Theo is holding the ball.  How on earth can you give a penalty for that.

Guess the ref saw an elbow in the contact. There was some intent there but it was because the Adelaide player was all over him. Its a really strange one

One hundred percent Theo clocked him with the elbow, but the whistle should have gone long before that for McGowan being all over him.

A red for Theo & a foul for Brisbane would have been fair

Agreed, but with a yellow for McGowan for slowing Brisbane down in that situation.  However if the referee had of blown his whistle when he should have, Theo would never have thrown the elbow.

Rumours floating around that Ross Aloisi punched an Adelaide official post game

The ref was poor for 90 mins

It sounds like it was the Adelaide assistant coach.

At least it will give the Fox guys something to talk about other than how shark we are and how we should be kicked out of the league.

What's the rule meant to be in a situation like the end of this game, IF the ref had considered there was a foul on Theo before the elbow?

E.g: Adelaide guy is all over Theo > Ref blows whistle for foul vs Theo > As he's blowing for the foul Theo elbows Adelaide guy in the head.

Is the first foul the one that counts, or the one that is more serious? I'm assuming he would give the foul against Adelaide, but still send Theo off? E.g no penalty kick but still the Red?

Red for the keeper, no pen and a free kick to the Roar.---- that is what I reckon.

Just seen highlights of this, you are correct. Keeper sent, YC to Adelaide player for the "rugby tackle" and defensive free kick to the Roar.

As for the coach, looking like he will be in big trouble if the allegation is true. Should be seeing a rest of the season ban if he actually did strike the opposition coach

I'm an optimistic pessimist.
I'm positive things will go wrong.

Apparently Ross punched him from behind and left him lying on the ground.

From the TV footage, you can see someone down in the tunnel on the right.

A bit further on you can see Aloisi's smirk about it

Adelaide do seem to get a lot of good calls at Hindmarsh. I'd always put it down to the crowds, but this is better than the Siggie deal...

Seems like I'm on my own in not thinking it's a red. But yeh, sensational.

We need to figure out how to win games late like this in order to help our metrics.

From the Stuff report:

"While Ramallo had to be carried into the dressing room, he didn't sustain any injuries."
