Sydney hosting an Aloisi-less Brisbane Roar at Kograh tonight. Will we see the New Manager Effect in action and see an upset?

Retre at RB, so Tratt sits on the bench for another week.

I think they will struggle without Avram P

Can we put to bed the notion that A-League refs don't give out first half cards yet? I've noticed a lot over the last week or two. Two in the first 10 minutes for Roar here.

Sydney go 1-0 up. Great ball from Zullo, deep out wide, for Le Fondre to head over Young.

1-1!!

Redmayne pushes a dangerous cross on to McKay's chest and the ball goes in.

McKay looks a bit like Greenacre to me.

Where the hell is the consitency with VAR.

That roar goal was more of a hand ball then Singh's disallowed goal earlier in the season !!!!

There was no hand came of middle of chest.

Yes, this one not even close to handball when viewed from that angle behind the goal.

LOL, Sydney gonna get saved by the VAR again

Permalink Permalink

What the heck were the VAR playing at calling the ref over to look at that again?

Or not... Taggart wins pen and chokes

I'm still blaming VAR for freezing the penalty taker for so long.

Looked really similar to the Singh decision for me.

Brisbane should've got a result there if it wasn't for Taggart fluffing it up front, and not just the penalty.

Watching the game now. DIngham actually looks like a footballer in this game, I wonder if the Roar will forget about converting him to a fullback now and stick him up front from now on?

Permalink Permalink

Ye, DIngham definitely looked decent in the attacking role, got to make good use of his pace. If he can continue to threaten I assume they'll keep him in a similar position.

I'm an optimistic pessimist.
I'm positive things will go wrong.

I'm starting to think Taggart just doesn't suit what Brisbane are trying to do. He doesn't have the work rate to be a lone striker, he needs a secondary striker besides him like he had with Heskey at the Jets.

Jets hosting Adelaide tonight, a draw would be nice.

Permalink Permalink

If the Jets can pick up the win, it gets quite tight between 4th and 7th on the table. As well as we have been playing, we haven't been able to kick way from some of the underperforming sides so far.

Lia on 4 yellow cards this season so if he gets another one he's suspended against us.

Not quite sure about Scott Miller as a commentator but we really need Teo Pellizzeri to do more games. He is soooo much better than Speed, Harper etc

Jair, oh dear.

Adelaide already played their get out of jair free card.

Oh Mossy, he won't wanna see that replay. Mileusnic taps it in for a 0-1 lead for Adelaide

Permalink Permalink

One of the flukiest goals you'll see all season.

Permalink Permalink

Vargas, how do you stuff that up?

Permalink Permalink

Nasty gash on the leg for Mossy.

I remember our first home game this season vs Newcastle when Moss needed seen to and we started singing Hey Mambo! (their reserve keeper)

Permalink Permalink

Both teams fairly average. I'll partly excuse the pace due to the heat, but still pretty average quality. Thought Jets created a bit more in the final third, but their finishing was more gash than Moss's leg. Jets also trying several times to give away goals with dodgy passing in their own half.

Mambo & Matty on at half time for the Jets.

Adelaide have pinched the 3 points here, what was Boogaard doing? 1-2

Permalink Permalink

Newcastle should've really got all 3 points there, certainly the draw at least.

Izzo had saved a point for Adelaide, getting 3 is like Xmas all over again.
