I bet there will be a few more empty seats in Wellington tomorrow.

Anything is possible with this ref. Was hoping he would quietly disappear into oblivion this season but no such luck. He is truly clueless.

Good match. Kill the VAR. That was some decent half-time rage from Bosnic.

Wow nice goal! Great little ball by Brattan to put McGree in.

Melbourne have too many good players. They will be right up there at the top of the league come the end of season.

I don't think they have quite worked out how to get all the talent working with each other. Antonis playing as a left sided cm, often playing as a winger - seemed quite odd to me

wow, that assist for City's 2nd goal was beautiful.

Now that was more like it! Both sides looked a class above from friday night. Victory were very good in a losing effort, Troisi was particularly unlucky not to score.  VAR was a joke as usual, but City's second was superb. Got me fired up for today that match.

wasnt VAR's call, ref called foul, VAR advised him to check the location only. Ref still called foul but in box! VAR should have advised that Fornaroli had dived! Certainly no trip and at worst a gentle hand on his back.

As you say, 'VAR should have advised that Fornaroli had dived'. Certainly no trip'.

Agreed. Kill the VAR.

It's not VAR fault, it's will be always the referee's fault. The VAR is just slow motion eyes from different angles. The referee actually had the chance to improve his decisions, if he thinks it is foul, it should be given in the box.

Some real talent in this Roar lineup. Lots of goalmouth action so far.

Two terrible misses by Taggart.

Finally Taggart puts one away.

But it's offside says VAR....

Please don't chalk it off VAR.  It is NOT clear and obvious error.

I know, I know, its serious!

The whole thing is farcical - I don't know where to start.

It is, however, highlighting what a jobbies referee Beath is,

I know, I know, its serious!

Beath's blushes spared by an offside. Christ what a joke. If it's going to be like this all season its going to be a tough watch.

And what's Craig Zetta doing anywhere near the VAR? I still have bad memories of him in the A League years ago. Absolutely appalling referee.

Well taken goal by Roly.

Was just thinking to myself Roly is playing too far forward when he goes and slams one in.

1-1

Babbel says he gives the the ball away too much with sloppy passing, so pushed him out wide so it doesn't hurt them as much

Curious way of dealing with a problem but it's paid off so far!

Having watched (most of) all games in Round 1, in terms of quality it was the Melbourne teams 1st (and Victory edging it), the rest daylight. Of the rest, I think Perth looked very good and should have won comfortably. (Victory play Perth next week!)

It will be interesting to see how Sydney develop, but I thought they underperformed most relative to expectations.

And Brisbane possible outperformed (my) expectations. Should be an intriguing game next week for the Nix.

I know, I know, its serious!

Sadly the FFA don't know what "Per capita" means.
