Simulation

On the subject... I could never understand why people got so mega-angry with the Uruguayan player who handballed against Ghana in the WC. He did it in full view of the ref and got the appropriate penalty for it. I have much more respect for that than for simulators, who deliberately attempt to fool the ref. If you're going to cheat, cheat blatantly and take the consequences.

I've heard this argument before and it angers me. I don't know about you, but it is not part of the sport I love. I watch football for the skills players have on the ball, not for their ability to decieve the referee. The only players that dive are those who have failed with the ball at their feet and need to cheat the opposition to get their way. It's anti-football. If you like acting, go to the movies.

I didnt see this one, how obvious was it??  Simulation and getting a penalty is cheating.

So by the same logic, a well placed uppercut to your opponents jaw is fine as long as you do it when the referee is looking the other way? And this would be a part of the game.

Taking your 'logic' a bit further is it OK to murder and steal because if nobody is there to ping you for it it's fair game?  Or is there a cut-off point?  If so, where?

Basically I hate simulation but I do understand over-exagerration of fouls so as to ensure the ref sees what is certainly a foul.  Having said that, though, this could lead the committer of the foul to get a red card instead of a yellow so it's all a very grey area.

Thats the problem right there, "it is all apart of the game....it". Encouraging diving at any level is most definitely NOT "apart" of UEFA'S RESPECT and FAIR PLAY Programmes.

Either you rayhan are not conversant with the laws of the game-more than likely not! OR you are just a cheeky mischief maker and TROLL.

Baird May Sue Colosimo

"PERTH Glory owner Tony Sage says the club would back Michael Baird if he takes legal action against Professional Footballers Australia President Simon Colosimo after the Melbourne Heart captain accused Baird of 'blatant simulation'." Is it an accusation though? The dive was so unbelievably obvious and blatant that Colosimo was stating what he did rather than accusing him of doing it. Has Baird seen the footage?

Fuck this stupid game

I play in the fourth tier of women's football in Auckland, and I was shocked and appalled to hear a ref caution us against diving a few months ago. If the disease really has spread that far, I support any and all efforts to eradicate it at the top level.

Hello,

What I have seen on Sky Australia, it seems that the powers that be are standing by their decision to suspend Michael Baird for 2 matches-If he does take legal action against the PFA, it could set a precedent for all other players cited and charged for 'simulation' offences....If you know within yourself that you are not guilty then yes fight to clear that charge off your football record-I believe the actions of the PFA are a warning to all players' to as UEFA and FIFA would concur to show 'respect' and to implement 'fair-play' in football for the common good of the game both domestically and globally.
