How does the TAB pay out?   Do they consider it a draw since they have that option?

I had Newcastle to win.

They did finish 3rd in the regular season though.

Just seems to show that the Gold Coast has not much interest in Football at the moment. Apart from about 4,000 people - who would probably have made the trip down to support the Roar if GCU wasn't around.

Go lie down then close your eyes. That's a good starting point.

Three for me, and two for them.

Not to harsh anyone's buzz, but someone on the Glory(hole) forum was saying that this is precisely what Perth are going to try to do to us - park the bus for 120 minutes and then take their chances on penno's.

I'm very confident tomorrow won't go to Pens.  It certainly won't be nil-all.

If Perth have all the injured players back they will need to get over us early because they will run out of legs later on.

I think its fair to say that Smeltz bottles it in the big games. This game plus Bahrain he hasn't lived up to his standards.

Put them away early,so play to us in the first half (thats us as in YF) and all the angst will be avoided.

As an aside would be interesting to know just how the scoring goes for the Phoenix when playing to the fever end.Trainspotters.

Agreed. There is no way it will be 0-0 imo.

Anyone confirm that this means the winner of Nix v Perth hosts the next final? Got a nasty feeling the Jets will end up hosting the next game.

jets cannot host as they came 6th winner today hosts next game

Someone said Smeltzy isn't with GCU next season. I hope he goes to some Euro team so a) he can shake off the foul stench which has settled on his goal kicking recently, which I'm sure is due to evil Queensland influences; b) we don't have to hate him during the A-League season any more.

big difference between us and gold coast at the moment though, we've got a run of 3 wins with good scoring, they came in with 1 or two goals and two losses, smeltz not scoring for 4 games beforehand...it'll be very tough to park it up for 120 minutes with Ifill in the form he's in at the moment.

had a crap first half against CCM- didn't bury the game. Played well against GCU, but lacked sting up front like earlier in the season- which was Smeltz was saying I guess.

relying on Ifill too much, but hope he comes through for us again!

have to lift our creativity and sting, and keep our defence and midfield clinical.

I said about 3 times that Rees would miss his shot, but didn't expect the pitching wedge. There must have been a few others ahead of him in the pecking order surely? They must have hid when the order was made.

Taking Porter off with 5 to go meant he missed having one class player to taker the penalty....odd Royal2010-02-21 11:45:15
