Owusu not starting unfortunately. Considerably reduces the comic potential of the game.

Fair Red.  Bridge should have a yellow for asking for the card as well.

A disgusting spectacle seeing Brosque congratulating him and shaking his hand for a job well done too.

you guys are tough. that was a clear red, and bridge had done well to win the ball and surge toward goal. he forced barbiero to make the decision to haul him down, which was blatant cheating. fair enough of brosque to congratulate him.

Yeah, see I quite like Sydney.  They have some players I quite like, some I don't dislike, and some I can even respect.  Then they have these two up front and they fall in to a category of Australian forwards all to common in the A-League.

Whiney, petulant, sulky cheats.  Their treatment of fellow professionals is unebelieveable to me.

Colosimo looking patchy for the first time this season so far.

I don't mind them mostly because the majority on their forum support us being in the league

Think that Leckie is looking awesome so far. Has been really impressive whenever he has got a chance.

There are no circumstances to me where asking the referee for a rival player is acceptable.  It disrespects the referee and treats your fellow professional badly.  Bridge will be the same player breaking up play in ten minutes when Adelaide break and he'll expect the referee to leave the cards behind and swear at the referee and whine at him if he get's one.

Two weeks until he's called the next 'insert an Australian forwrad of the last 20 years here'.  Two years until he's the next Kruse or Nichols.

(Actually I think it likely he has more to him than these two, just familiar with the pattern).

Yeah, I agree. See how he goes over the course of more than a handful of games. Young players always look better than they actually are when they first come onto the scene (before they get found out) but I do think he probably has a future.

well, i kinda agree with you re disrespecting the ref. but, ive got v little sympathy for somebody who has just blatantly cheated by hauling down a player through on goal and one on one with a goalie

Were Sydney out with Frank Farina last night ?  McFlynn cock-up, Colosimo looks a fraction of the player he has been of late and a stroppy 17yo is running them all around.

I call a bottle of Grange and a couple of Chardonnays at Franks. Hard News2009-10-16 22:40:32

No ..I suspect  Jim Barry Cover Drive was the red  HN, to remind Frank that when he's drinking  he shouldn't......

Great saving tackle from Rudan for sure

That'd be Mark 'the A League is really boring this season' Rudan. Plenty to keep him interested tonight.

I disagree with that.  What is the lesser evil, the cynicism to pull down a player who is clear tyhrough on goal or reminding the referee of his responsibilities to send him off?

Question - is there any speculation the Mr Farina has a bit more of a problem with the drink thatn just getting in his car?  I found that an astounding decision if that was all that he did

I'm not arguing that it's red and Barbiero got what he deserved.  To me that doesn't excuse the petulant actions of Bridge.  Two seperate incidents that should have been dealt with seperately.

Particularly when Deloski has been the leagues best ref all season.

It's the second time since he's been at the club and there are certainly allegations that the FFA put pressure on (perhaps fear of an NRL type media dust-up).  Also on the back of the game of kick-a-Kruse at the Etitard the othee week.
