Like I said in that thread i'd probably have McKain in there based on his Melbourne performance alone - Dura and him finally looked like they clicked. Based on the All Whites performance I would have Siggy though - it's a tough choice.

No, we accepted the Barbiero situation as it occured and that was dealt with. The problem is Bridge's behaviour wasn't dealt with and like a coillection of A-League forwards who consistantly behave this way it wil be ignored.

HN - if that's the case re: Farina then I think things are getting a bit out of whack. That's not to suggest that players shouldn't behave well but if you start getting into treating them differently than other members of society and trying to hold them up to a higher standard, all that's going to lead to is more and more incidents, because sportsmen are just normal people and over time that means they will do things that normal people do, and that means they will f**k up.
Dribnk driving isn't good, no doubt about that. But people drink and drive all the time, and the get caught and they do their time and they carry on working. He didn't hurt anyone. I'd be pi$$ed off if I was him

Again though what is the actual issue with it? Players question the referee all the time. You say it's disrespectful to your fellow pro - well in my mind so is dishonestly taking him down when he's through on goal. But you do it because you ahve to to get the points, and that's exactly what Bridge is doing, making sure that the referee makes the correct decision

I just think that the higher you set your standards the more likely they're going to be broken. This idea that every time someone stuffs up they need to pay homage and apologise to, in no particular order, the fans, their family, the club and the sponsors. Unless it's really bad I think it should be handled internally

But that isn't dishonest, it's blatant. A dive or asking for a referee to take action with the patronising waving of a fake card is completely different. It's trying to influence a decision, not to influence play.
The foul influences the match but is an honest (although not legal) action.

Wasn't that Farina's last incident public before the management could do anything? It's an unforgiving place at the moment Australian sport.
I think the NRL have got it all wrong with their whiter than white attitude though, the more incidents people are dragegd over the coals for the more incidents are miraculously discovered. If you make a point that these things, while a pity, aren;t a big deal, then the media and the public don't go looking for it.
