Trains equal top on points, 3rd on goal difference (paying for that 7 - 1 loss to the Whips).

5 wins in a row.

Brock back from injury, and for the first time ever we field two 4.5 star DCs and 4.5 star GK, only to have Vieras (our other DC) get injured and out for 2 weeks.

Another close loss. ... So frustrating at times. Hopefully can start to pick up some results.

57% possession, more than twice as many shots on target as my much-weaker opposition, still only got a draw. Never seems to happen the other way around when I'm playing teams better than me though.

Lost a crazy game 4-6. Once again I had more possession and shots too

This time, I had 58% possession and 7 shots on target to 2 from the opposition. Of course, I lost 0 - 1.

As have I. Disappointing. So many games finished 1-0 or 2-1. My strikers failed to fire

nope, banned and inactive teams went down and I stay in the Championship G4. I'm a bit annoyed to be honest, I was looking forward to playing some different teams and being in a league where I might have a shot of winning the thing. Oh well

Haven't been paying much attention to this lately either.  Few of my YA players are now getting better, but also costing me a fortune in wages and i don't have the income to support this.  Along with expansive stadium features I might have to sell one off this season to stay in the black.

Got relegated last season, hopefully will just stay in a group this time round!

managed to gain promotion into the aotearoa championships group 3, Peow FC is in the group, not about any other YF TMr's. I'm targetting a mid league finish this season and maybe top the season after.

Back to league 1. Bit of a yoyo club. My strikers forget how to score once they get to the championship. Let's see if my youth product striker who just cracked the first team can score a few

It's gone pretty quiet in here of late.  Anyway am still playing the game actively, but only mucking around with tactics and keeping an eye on youth development.

After a few seasons of hard slog, I now have a first XI comprised of only players who have graduated from my YA.  Some are OK, some have really good potential (4.5* possible).  If you take away my oldest player at 29, my next oldest player is 24.

The players at my disposal are a bit imbalanced however, with 3-4 potential 4.5* OM's.  Have been trying to pick up an all round CM or DM from my YA with decent passing, tackling and stamina but haven't come up trumps.

Have won 4 on the trot in L1G8 while the reserve team still have 2-3 players which will graduate into the first team in a couple of seasons.

Bring back YF league!

I'm still playing, tried to gauge interest for restarting a YF league but there were only about 4 or 5 people interested IIRC, I suppose we could have a really small one though.

On paper my team is much improved but I'm still getting the same sort of results. I was a bit annoyed that I lost 4-1 last night to a team which was about my level and they were playing with a formation with 4 at the back, a DM, 2 wide midfielders, 2 wingers, and a sole striker. Generally the game tactics are realistic enough but 3 players on each touchline and only one central midfielder shouldn't work

Overall the game has started to bug me a bit because it feels like I'm just treading water but I've committed too much time to building to this point that I don't want to quit now!

I'd be interested to know why the guys on here who quit decided to pack it in.

I have no idea what the impact of tactics are on this game.  I mean if you made big changes to formation, style and mentality then I'm sure that has an impact.  But it's hard to gauge if small tweaks make a difference.  I've played 3 along the back ever since I started playing the game.  For some games where I try to beef up the defense and go to 4 plus DM against a similar matched team I still seem to get trounced.

Don't think I've got a handle on that.  This means my only motivation really is to bring good YA players up to a point where I have enough 'stock' of players in the squad then be able to offload 1-2 really good ones a season to bring in the cash and start playing around in the transfer market.  I'd say I'm about 4-5 seasons away from being able to begin doing that properly.  From there I'll try build a more formidable first XI to have a good go at the championship and so on.

But it does feel like I'm just going through the motions.  Need to get back into Fifa :)

I finished 8th, on 53 points.

6th and 7th finished on 54 points.

I needed to finish 6th for sponsor's goals, and my last 4 league games were L D L L

Very Phoenix-esque. Very disappointing.
