yep that is annoying. A lot of teams throw games at the end of the season to avoid getting promoted. Massive flaw in the game.
Reserve or Yoof teams
I made the Championship once and it was sharkhouse money wise.
I am also paying for having a high YA. I've downed training from 10 to 6 to save a bit of money.
But a shark transfer market means I am not getting what I thought I would for decent young 4/4.5 potential players in return and am still massively in the red as a result.
I have 5 4.5* in my YA list that I can't sign because I'm in the negative. And another 3-4 4* too...... hurry up season update!
my finances are actually ok this year for the first time in a while, in negative now but tonights home game should solve that
Finally got club into the black after sponsorship money came through. Signed four 4.5* youths who've been sitting in my YD list. 3 of them are scouted to be proper 4.5 or higher while one is 4.0.
Hoping to sell off a few more young players to fund the rising wage bill!
my finances became more stable after downgrading YA a few seasons ago, kept my training grounds high so I could get the max benefit from any good youth pulls. YA currently level 8, TG level 10. I went up to championship last season and failed miserably now leading Kiwi league group 2. Hopefully I can get some great money this season and use it to buy some more 4+ players.
Ed Moir has reached 4.9 and should become the Little Trains Academy's first 5 star product in about 1 game year's time.
Awesome! That wage though. I got 1 guy on 1.5mil a week, few between 0.5-1.0mil and it drains the hell out of my finances. Needing to sell 1 decent player season to get me through finance wise.
I'm yet to get a 4.5* player, I've trained a couple but sold them for the big bucks.
Pulled a decent player for the first time in a few weeks.

4.5* potential (scouted 17/18). Just what I wanted too (DC) as my leading DC while in his prime is bound to start declining soon.
Pulled another 4.5 DC which was much needed. Will put him in the reserve team for a few seasons to get routine up. Currently upgrading Training back up to lvl 7. Hoping to reach my sponsor goals this season plus sell another academy product to go back up to level 8.
Still waiting for a decent 4-4.5 MC however... here's hoping
Edit: Just had my first legit academy developed 4.5 player as well but his wages cost an arm and a leg! http://trophymanager.com/players/104036416/Bruce_Bagg/#/page/history/
That was lucky, randomly decided to check how many days left for my Reserve team and discovered only 3, time to start watching some videos
Seems videos aren't really giving Pro anymore, which will kill of my reserve team
