I was just wondering if you were able to access the fixtures of our friendly league without actually being in it.

Ah right. It's a little annoying but I just go through club pages to get to them.

Hey theprof, its actually a real shame I got promoted into the fever premier league. Am still waiting in anticipation for the first Phoenix derby! Maybe we could quick match sometime, or should we save it for when we do eventually meet in the fever league to build some suspense and anticipation?

I am tempted to run out my youngsters in the Yellow Fever League this year, just to see how they go, biggest worry being absolutely being killed, can't afford to finish 5th :P

The advantage of being in division 4 is not having to worry about relegation. I'd have a run at promotion, then trot out the youngsters if you're looking out of the running. Though the division has been so close in previous seasons that this hasn't always been possible!

That is true, maybe I'll just mix it up from the start. play a mix of starters and back-ups.

Can we (and if so, how) arrange friendlies between the bye teams? ie: 1v2 & 3v4?... is there any point/value in doing so?

E + R + O

The only way to do it would be through Quick Match. Which isn't quite the same as a live match I don't think. It'd also be something you'd have to arrange between yourselves, rather than the more automated (once its started) fever league.

That has been my downfall in the Fever league over the past two seasons - although it has helped me out in the league. Pumped for the first game of the season, as the person with the last-round bye these first games are all the more crucial. Need to be in top gear for LHL tonight.

And we are underway, made the decision to play my seniors and hope to start off with a win.

Permalink Permalink

game on, sky valley taking a very defensive approach at the ring of fire.

Queenslander 3x a year.

Here we go, an attacking game in progress, LHL's squad looking much improved since last season, might be a test for my now-all 3 star defence after Mick Barratia popped to 3 stars today, defence is looking strong for the future.

Now watch me lose 5-2.

Lots of through balls at Parque Municipal dos Desportos, both teams playing through the middle, though ten minutes gone and no shots yet. At the same time the Falcons have 3 shots saved by Duck as the second game in Fourth Division is also scoreless.

Not likely, your keeper is unreal!  Pretty much all 3 stars on my side too

All LHL thus far, keeper holding up fine to this point though. I seem to recall him having a shocker in the corrosponding fixture last season so time to make amends!

Frolov puts Leilei through and he puts it straight at the keeper, then Pink puts Dee one on one with the goal and he shoots wide.

Looks like the boys are starting to get into it now. My defence is improving now, only Morrison is 2.5* and oldest defender is 26yr old Atkins

My oldest guy too is 26, Will Vicelich, but he's going to be likely sold once Bruce Rapp gets some more routine. Best CB is only 24, and I have a 4 star LB who's only 19 - promising signs.

Beautiful corner from Tim Pink, right to the head of Leilei and GOAL!!! 1-0 it is

Permalink Permalink

8 shots to 0 had to toll eventually, 1-0 to LHL. Looks like I'm missing my starting CM, can't get any possession.

Permalink Permalink

Yes! It took 7 shots on target but one has finally crept through! A great header from my 32 year old striker (who is usually quite invisible)

Permalink Permalink

oops another yellow.   The Falcons are really up for it tonight!

I'm 1-0 up against disjointed. Tight game so far, which plays into Disjointeds hands a bit. Premiership going to be interesting this season as my squad isn't all that deep (playing a 3.5 star for the first time in a long long time in midfield, and also a 4 star guy permanently for the first time in a while (usually itd just be as an injury replacement))

Halftime and it's 1 shot to 10, that's poor from the midfield - the Fever League curse is striking once again!

Permalink Permalink

GOAL!!! Looks like the Whippingboys are back into it 1-1 with 20 left. Nice goal to Rood

Permalink Permalink

GET IN! 2-1!

Permalink Permalink

And ACTION at our place as Jones goes in for another terrible tackle, and he's already been booked, a second yellow and that sees Elite FC down to 10 men.

Permalink Permalink

2 goals in 2 minutes, it was 0-1, look up to see a sub being brought on, look back again and it's 2-1, wow.

Funnily enough it showed me 2-1 before the penalty was given :P
Permalink Permalink

wow 1-0 as I left work, back home and 2-1 down! c'mon Falcons!!

Permalink Permalink

And that'd be 3 :O What a turnaround from the Whippingboys there.

Permalink Permalink

wow 3-1 .... not looking good for the visitors

must get onto finding a new keeper :p

It did the same with me! 3-1, woo-hoo, Dellar with the eighth of the season. Took me a while but we finally hit our straps.
