Having said that, one of the Tawa midfielders just picked up a second yellow so that may help.

Yeah, it helped. Helped motivate them to score that is...

Trains drew level 2 - 2 early in the second half but in the end the Chickens were too strong and ran out 5 - 2 winners.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

8-0 win for the Whips

19 Feb 00:50

Well the Dirty Burgers were exactly that in our 1-1 effort, my left wing and right back both left with injuries.

19 Feb 21:30

Peow FC beat Thunderthighs United! Reckon the gap is closing in on the top finally.

Result was quite the surprise when I checked. Got to beat Tegal now haha

21 Feb 01:08

Nice victory Peow, looks like it is going to be a close run thing in the Premiership this season.  Conceding four at home is pretty terrible - I'll call it a blip.

24 Feb 02:46

good lord, just checked out my first game and it's against Tegal - I'm going to get smashed!!

Wouldn't be so sure. Peow just beat TTU and the trains beat me last season as well as going close last week. Plus my squad is very much on the decline. Us winning isn't the nearly sure thing it once was back in the early seasons of the fever league.

Having said that, I'm Hoping I can capitalise on TTUs early defeat and take back the premiership this season.

maybe, your squad maybe be aging but it is well better than mine man for man - especiall since my two starting CB's are on red cards!

Cards don't affect friendly leagues so you can play your CBs. Just like cards received in friendly league matches don't count (apart from the potential prestige of the Yellow Fever Fair Play Award of course).

24 Feb 08:32

A lot of us like to keep our injured and some even their suspended players out of the lineup. Just to keep it realistic as such.

Allegedly

24 Feb 18:36

yeah, I won't be playing carded or injured players in the friendly matches

Queenslander 3x a year.

24 Feb 20:53

I don't play injured players.

On the other hand, I figure in real life cards don't count in different competitions (e.g., EPL and Champions League) so I consider it realistic for carded players to be available in friendly leagues.

24 Feb 20:56

Yeah, I'm the same - injuries - you'll be without them for the next match anyway so you might as well test out how your replacement will go, but carded players aren't suspended for friendlies so sometimes I play them, depending on the circumstance.

24 Feb 21:31

I note FC Spartak Tawa are near the bottom of the fair play table...

interesting take on it - I'm torn really, I'd prefer to be playing my strongest lineup as often as possible especially in prem division, gah what to do???

Here's some free advice for you Prof.

When playing Tegal and Thunderthighs, play your strongest possible line up every time. Ignore cards, ignore injuries. Just really work the system hard.

However when playing other teams in the Premiership, rest your strongest line up and give the youngsters a run. It will gain them experience and protect your stars from injuries and cards which might prevent them being available in the BIG matches against Tegal and Thunderthighs.

Injuries in friendly league disappear immediately after the game.

But yeah reckon that's a good plan. We did have a headstart after all. I started not playing players who were suspended or had injuries because I often forgot to change the lineup back for league games, plus I figured it'd be more realistic, plus make it a bit more even (this was in season 1). Teams have evened up a bit more since then, but I still do it.

I appear to be in this boot this year.
Delighted with a 3-1 win last night with all three strikers scoring, Leilei & Pink, and then when my new starlet came on he scored his first goal as well.
