Earthquake City  4 - 1  Rahui warriors fc

Completely dominated the first half until the 39th minute when Rahui's first shot went in to make it one-all at the break. Nervy start to the second half, but three goals in the last 20 minutes resulted in a comfortable home win at the Brownlee Memorial Pieshop.

Hillary Wanderers  2 - 0  The Dirty Burgers

It may have been snowing in Lukla, but the recent addition of pitch heating meant the ground was still in good nick. Snow flurries meant neither side could see the goal to aim at however -- only one of the six shots in the first half was on target. Broke out the night vision goggles at the break and we scored two in 6 minutes early in the second half to take the points from the Cold Burgers. Overall stats were 7 shots on target from 14 attempts between the two sides.

10 men nix held Peow FC to 1-0....still a loss but not devastated by it

Queenslander 3x a year.

It must be a HELL of an away trip to Lukla. The travel, the altitude, the climate... not easy.

Well its warmer than Christchurch this morning anyway...

What storm, by the way? False alarm in Kelburn...

Alright for some. One of the technicians from my department at uni has just sent an email saying he's not coming in today because the end of his driveway is 700mm underwater. Our backyard now looks like an ornamental water feature with occasional patches of grass.

Hard to believe I needed the fan on in my office last week...

04 Mar 20:44

Not very nice for the Fafe boys as they travelled to Los Halcones last night, but a great effort by Watson in goal led to the chance and equalising goal in the final minute of injury time for a 1-1 result meaning both teams move to 5pts and remain unbeaten, but lose the top spot in the league.

Halftime:

Earthquake City  1 - 0  Wellington Phoenix

Shots: 7 - 2
On target: 4 - 1
Yellows: 1 - 0

The numbers say we've been fairly dominant. They had a good spell at the back end of the half, and I would be a lot more comfortable with a couple more goals here.

AD Fafe  1 - 1  Hillary Wanderers

Shots: 3 - 6
On target: 3 - 5
Yellows: 1 - 0

Fafe scored in the 23rd minute, we equalised in the 24th. We've been more productive, but feel like this could go either way.

11 Mar 09:10

Wellington Phoenix have a bright start to the second half and earn a penalty.

Horrible penalty though, I'm not sure the manager will want to bother paying Ned Smith's airfare back to Wellington...

Ned Smith made up for missing a penalty early in the second spell with a 70th minute goal from a free kick to grab a share of the points. Quite annoying considering he only has two skill points for set pieces; I guess its not the size that matters but how you use it.

A decidedly average second half at both ends of the park. Conceded goals from two of their four shots on target, and could only hit the barn door twice from seven attempts. AD Fafe deserved the three points.

nix fc are already preparing themselves for a good spanking tonight from Thungerthighs united

Queenslander 3x a year.

18 Mar 10:07

Naenae soccer club  1 - 2  Earthquake City

Possession: 44% - 56%
Shots: 6 - 12
On target: 2 - 7

Another game closer than it should have been. Scored in the 16th minute, conceded an equaliser in the 18th, and didn't knock the winner in till the 87th. Had much of the play in the meantime but couldn't make it count. Still, at the end of the evening we take the three points home with us.

Hillary Wanderers  3 - 1  Los Halcones Locos FC

Possession: 60% - 40%
Shots: 15 - 11
On target: 10 - 4

Once again, the longest away trip in the YF league proves too much for the visitors. I think they were also hampered by the thinner air -- most of their shots seemed to fly over the bar.

18 Mar 10:44

I give  up

absolutly hammer them in shots and still lose....

Chickens are visiting Homebush Road. They went 0 - 1 up after 5 minutes, and then after 23 mins

    Slick passing from Khandallah Lokomotiv

    E. Martin desperate to get back

    E. Martin with the red card blunder

    No question from the referee

Still 0 - 1 after 35 minutes...

Super strange 4-4 versus RCNS, despite having only 52% possession they still had 20 shots to 8, 18 of which were on target! Strange strange game, makes it a bit nervy up top

26 Mar 04:47

Very nice to get myself a 2-0 win last night, helped by a 2nd min Red for Dirty Burgers, and then a Penalty in the 54th.

Top of the Division again.

26 Mar 04:48

Top of the Table clash next week as AD Fafe meet Spartak Tawa

27 Mar 07:13

Idea I had last night, with our lot having enough B teams to fill out a division, and all of them are, well, pretty honking, any thoughts on adding a B team division to the competition next season?

27 Mar 07:53

Think there are issues around B teams not being able to accept invites. Tried it once to fill a gap in a division a few seasons back.

Allegedly

27 Mar 19:49

yeah pretty sure 'B' teams can't accept - wish they could my team woukld probably do pretty well.

27 Mar 21:47

Think they can, have seen friendly leagues for B teams in the past on the forums?

B teams, or second teams?

Would be keen if it can be done.

28 Mar 05:46

Maybe they can only accept invites from just other B teams?
