Am I right in saying that a quarter of the stadium is closed off during most games??

Will this be opened for Sunday, I hope so.

We will thump GCU's crowd! I wonder how big they will get.

the number on the news was the pre-sale number which doesn't include the memberships or comps. over 4000 tickets sold today i believe. i would say the closed area will remain closed depending on the number of tickets sold. if they don't sell those seats they might as well keep it closed closed.

Fuck this stupid game

Obviously have to keep in mind the walk in crowd and will surely have to prepare the area for staffing etc just in case (depending on how big ticket sales are getting).

I bought 4 tickets for the All Whites game before the first leg, got 8 tickets this time because I didn't want my family to miss out as some did at the All Whites game.  The tickets for that game were on sale for ages beforehand, this time we have a week to get it sorted, so I'm picking it will be a full house,( freaking magic if it is) just a feeling, like you Simon I'm pumped, but it's just got to be better than the (well done Christchurch by the way) Christchurch record.

Victory fans are worried about their "low" ticket sales so far.  Collective dummy spitting?  Or simply poor PAXage?

Maybe they should worship the Sydney God of PAX!!!

Condensed game schedule, short turnaround time between Sunday's game and tomorrow, little media coverage of tomorrow's game to date.

MVFC sent out a text message to members today reminding them of the game!

For clarification.

Number sold = PAX - Comp tickets (sponsors, free tix etc)
but crowd attendance = PAX + Comp tickets

Mate we've invested some decent dollars in that club over the past few years, we're starting to tire of it.

Between ACL games (if we choose to go) and the finals games, it's getting expensive all of a sudden to go and watch MVFC games. The 'cash cow' that Mr Lord and few others (maybe Terry S for you guys) have found is maybe starting to wear thin.

Will be interesting to see what crowd rocks up though, a lot of people (say 60,000 each night) were at AC DC this week, so a lot of attention was taken there as well.

So what you're saying is that Mr Lord will have his excuse book open at around page 735 on Friday and will read the following excuse...

"We didn't get the crowd that we were expecting because the FFA decided to schedule matches at the same time as the ACL"

Then in a weeks time when Sydney get a crowd of equal proportion to the one at Etitard tomorrow night Mr Lord will then consult the "Little Book of Sydney Taunts" that he keeps in his inside pocket of his jacket and quickly flick to page 326 and read: "We had the ACL, the AFL pre-season and ACDC concerts to contend with but Sydney still only got a sh*te crowd! Melbourne are Awesome!!!"

No no, Lord can say what he wants, he's got the media's ear, not us, I'm saying that a lot of people went to AC DC of late ($100 ticket minimum), and also that we've seen enough of Melbourne this year with the extended season, and also the ACL games are coming up.

I was referring to the supporters views, not Lord and the MVFC staff at all, they can say what they want.

How many Westpac Stadium members are there?

They didn't all turn up to the All Whites game, will they be there this week?

I am interested to know how the corporate ticket sale are going.

If the corporate boxes are sold out, that bodes well for the overall numbers.

Ya, most fans didnt really believe it when it was published, they just focussed on the part which said Phoenix must be eliminated from the Australian competition by 2012 or it has to count Kiwis as foreigners, a fully fledged Australian side based in New Zealand...

well i thought we were eligible up to and including the 2011 AFC Champs League (with Kiwis qualifying as Aussies etc) but that beyond that the whole issue was up for grabs and negotiation.

having kiwis qualifying as foreigners for the Champs league (ie part of the 4+1) could be the kind of compromise deal that is reached to enable WPX to stay in A-League and play Champs League long term though.I could live with that.

As long as the A-League doesn't change I'd consider it.  Wouldn't love it, but would consider it.

The FFA might want to pay careful attention to the GCU PAX. They might find themselves paying for the Public Transport to the ground for the fans!
