Car door thing was the preseason game Riccardo, against Chile - the Con the convict game was last home match of that season v South Melbourne, but a damn fine evening in the Bloc, with one H. Ngata Esq in amongst leading the chants :) even though we got monstered on the scoreboard...
yup car door was v chile. someone brought it to mt smart and threw it on the pitch, for whatever reason. I found an old car door out for trash down the road soon after that so took it home and painted KINGZ on it. next game day carried it (bloody heavy thing as well) all the way from the car to the main Mt Smart entry but the flabios on the gate wouldn't let me in with it, bugger.
I printed several dozen 'Bloc 5 songbook - south melbourne edition' for the game when Con showed up, not too long after being a get away driver in an armed hold up in Aussie. some of the chants in the 'song book' were not very complimentary and a few down right crude. apparently when he came across to play for the Kingz Con saw a copy at Mr Gordys laundromat and had to pick his jaw up off the floor. anyway in hindsight some of the content shouldn't have been included, Boutsianis didn't deserve it
There are times when I think the best chant we had was; GET INTO 'EM FUCK 'EM UP Sung over and over and over. So simple, yet elegant. Meta, even. If I was a player, I would think, "You know what, I will get into them! And I will fudge them up!"
