Cameron Devlin is available for selection for the Western Sydney Wanderers match on Sunday.
Joshua Laws sustained an ankle injury during the Wellington Phoenix versus Central Coast Mariners match on 14 Feb 2021. The club is currently awaiting the results of an MRI, and Law’s availability for selection for Sunday’s match versus Western Sydney Wanderers will be dependent on the outcome of this scan.

Maybe recycling players but, in the absence of getting Winston Reid in on loan, I hope Australia opens the one way travel bubble again so we can raid the handy prem for players who we know can cut it at this level like Doyle.
Sam Brotherton? All White CB, played in USL, now back at Auckland City?

That's a good point, even if we won't sign a starting player, if we're not going to use our visa slots we should be using them to bring in promising OFC players to at least train in a professional environment.
Niche cache is very bullish on Wayne. Uffie so far not so much. Tbh, it feels like Waine is less effective than he was. When he started I guess he had the confidence of the age group teams and of getting a new contract. Guess we'll see if he was gets a chance and if he takes it.

Think Tom Doyle is currently injured.
Could be that Nix are awaiting scan on Laws's ankles, plus any decision by the Aussie Govt to reopen that one way MIQ free travel bubble, before announcing any possible CB injury replacement. They may just bring over someone from Weenix.
Reid would nice. Just get the Welnix boys to slap another $2M on the overdraft, to pay his wages until July.
Might be a bit too early to read too much into this but
if you play us, you will end up above us?
Wellington Phoenix general manager David Dome says the club is “very hopeful” it will be able to play two home matches in New Zealand once the trans-Tasman travel bubble opens later this month.
Do they actually want to do this or are sponsors pushing them? I have a feeling both cities will disappoint given our up and down season and how fickle kiwi sports fans are.
we have no sponsors
absolutely wrong call if they play a game in Akld
This may also be relevant contractually. https://www.wellingtonphoenix.com/news/wellington-phoenix-locks-eden-park-next-two-seasons

What's the highly successful business you have built up, to be offering financial advice to Rob Morrison & Co?
It's an absolute no-brainer of a decision considering the club's been bleeding money for the past 12+ months.

Then throw in that Eden Park CEO has openly been chasing events to bring to NZ's 'national stadium', and offering attractive ground lease terms.
Lastly teams likely for these 2 NZ games are Western United & Perth. Are there direct Perth-Wellington flights, or do you need to go via Auckland? Basically could be some flight expense savings, if have an Australian side fly directly into Auckland.

That would be absolutely horrific. One game in Auckland is fair given the circumstances, but two. I wouldn't be going as I wouldn't be able to justify that
For me, taking into account the fanbase means both games in Wellington. I get that there's balance to strike but it feels as though Wellingtonians are getting shafted here.

Until 4pm yesterday Wellingtonians faced getting no games. By demanding 2 games you are basically asking the Welnix owners to increase their already $3M plus loss for this season, by a likely another $200-$400K range. Selfish
Wanted more games in Welly. Perhaps ask JA why she didn't create the TT bubble earlier. A whole other argument.
Lastly those Nix fans who head up to the Auckland games seem to enjoy themselves (Nix have a great record at EP - unbeaten even??). So grab a cheap flight/car pool up, and enjoy the bars of Sandringham. Doloras can give you a tour.
But I'm sure it would be much easier just to find Wellington millionaires not currently involved in Welnix, who'd throw in extra millions just to make sure no home games ever go to Auckland again. I would say "that all home games are in Wellington", but I'm sure people wouldn't begrudge Hamilton or Dunedin an occasional away fixture, it's just the JAFAs they want to punish
But if you go to Auckland for the second game, you may get 20k there, maybe more if you get real lucky. That's a big difference in $$$, and money matters to the club, especially in these circumstances.
And Auckland is generally a lower risk of a bitter southerly whipping through in June, than Welly.
But yeah the big picture is, the owners don't deserve any criticism for trying to ike out as much cash as they can from only having 2 true home games. They have been through several challenging shark times keeping this club afloat, and people should be thankful that looking to 2022 they will still have an A League club to support, which will highly likely be based permanently back in the capital.

1 game in Auckland 25-30k crowds all day long.
