2012 / 2013 Draw

Hi everyone,

I know that there are plenty of electronic calendars containing the A-League 2012/13 draw for ALL TEAMS but I like to have one just for the Nix.

So of course, I created one. And here it is for everyone to share.

It is a shared Google calendar which basically means that not only can you access it to find out the local NZ times and dates for games - you can also IMPORT the calendar into your current calendar on your computer or smart phone/device so that you will have the fixtures embedded into your diary.

You can find it here: http://bit.ly/nix201213

If there are any errors (which I'm sure there will be at least one, not withstanding the Western Sydney TBC name), then please let me know - via PM is probably the best way.

Enjoy :)

P.S. See you on Saturday 2 March for the buildup to that Jam Tards game eh?

Unless Dunedin is dramatically different to Wellington, O Week should last closer to a month than a week. Good scheduling imo

Novelty dress up theme?  Come as your favourite burning couch.

We've got the snow, burning couches and the Phoenix, oh Dunedin is wonderful!

The 2012/13 Hyundai a-League is on! The Wellington Phoenix need your support at the next home game against the Jam Tards more than ever before.

To darken the spirits of the Heart we want you to come all dressed in novelty breasts or your favourite piece of scarfy furniture. Let's make Forsyth-Barr Stadium just like the old windswept, freezing Carisbrook used to be (full of drunk scarfies and urine).

We're also putting on face painting and a bouncy castle. If you are a hard core fan, or just want to be there for something that will never happen again, then you will want to be a part of this. F*ck it - if we don't get a 20k+ crowd then you're all a bunch of rowers.

Don't really want to cramp your style but would be nice for that horse to be left in the season that was. It was funny for a while...

I've booked my tickets to Dunedin.  Can't wait, haven't been to Dunedin since I was a small child!

Wish they would only take a game v a team coming here twice.  Why couldn't Auckland get the Jets.  The last game v Perth (play off game) was good even though we lost.

jets v adelaide @ newcastle was the first ever HAL game for any team. so i think they try and re-create that first round fixture every year.

Now that the OFC draw has been made, this is how things look during the 2 FIFA windows.

Sat 6th Oct - Phoenix Vs Sydney
Fri 12th Oct - Tahiti Vs New Zealand
Sun 14th Oct - Heart Vs Phoenix
Tue 16th Oct - New Zealand vs Tahiti
Sun 21st Oct - Phoenix Vs Roar

Sun 17th Mar - Glory Vs Phoenix
Fri 22nd Mar - New Zealand Vs New Caledonia
Sat 23rd Mar - Phoenix Vs Jets
Tue 26th Mar - Solomon Islands Vs New Zealand
Sun 31st Mar - Phoenix Vs Victory

The Heart & Jets games will need to be shifted, otherwise we will need to be playing the 8 academy kids to make up numbers.

Would we have more leverage now than as a brand new club 4 years ago?

It would be complete bs if we're forced to play without half of our squad.

I know it's not really a great reference, but on Football Manager if this situation occurs, the Phoenix match in question is moved to a Wednesday night a couple of weeks afterwards.

Sounds like the request to have them changed when the draw was draft didn't work.

I'll told they are working on a formal request now.

Except in earlier versions when it didn't! That sucked.

+1. The Dunedin match is on my birthday, so I'm pretty keen to go... but I'll hold off on booking tickets for now.

Hopefully FFA can be persuaded, although it's of no real concern to them other than the prospect of a Phoenix C team being fielded.

I will always put club before country but in this case a mid-week Nix-Jests game at a later/earlier date would be good.

If they don't move games, the only explanation would be that they want to encourage us to sign more Australians.

Melbourne Heart, in conjunction with Football Federation Victoria (FFV) have announced they will stage the 2012 Victorian Premier League Grand Final at AAMI Park following Heart's second round Hyundai A-League match against Wellington Phoenix.

Heart tackles Phoenix at AAMI at 3pm on 14 October and FFV has scheduled the VPL Grand Final to commence at 5.30pm, directly after Heart’s first home match of the 2012 roster.

The partnership will provide fans of the Hyundai A-League and the VPL the chance to enjoy a unique double header, combining elite level football and the finale of Victoria’s top tier season in an afternoon football feast.

It will be interesting to see how that turns out.

A-League curtain-raiser for the VPL, in a match here we'll be missing half a squad on All Whites duty.

Maybe we should be doing the same if we have to do TeeDubs games as Domey wants. Do it after the A-League game?

  • Means the young guns who didnt get to play can still have a runout in a matchday situation.
  • No stand-down period between games.
  • TV Cameras will still be there.

However I would still prefer we dont play the TWs on the same day

3pm games I was meaning - but yeah would still need lighting

Permalink Permalink

I would guess that they are playing it second incase it goes to extra time or pens. They wouldn't want to have to delay the A-League games kick off if it happened.

The Jets had a big whinge about it to FFA apparently. Heated discussion all round.

Fuck 'em.  The FFA have bailed them out, paid for Heskey, ignored their pre-season thuggishness  and given them dispensations we'd never see.

I just hope it hasn't buggered up travel for the Newcastle supporters who were coming.

Phoenix v Jets originally scheduled for Sun 23 Mar has been re-scheduled and will now be played on Wed 27 Feb. Full details on website soon.

That was the only non-Sunday game in Wellington for the rest of the year? That sucks, bought my parents flights to Wellington for that game as an xmas present.

Have a chat with Air NZ and see what they can do. The worst they can do is say no. There could even be someone in the forum that works there that can help

no issue with the choice taken... i just quite enjoy the saturday games and being able to go out and celebrate our inevitable home win afterwards.

I'll talk to Air NZ see if they can do anything about the flights.
