Is it just me or are these getting more and more expensive each year? At a time when support numbers are dropping, this sort of thing is not very encouraging. Having just moved house and now have two children, there's no way I could justify $200 for a night out for myself.

Very disappointed with this direction that the club seem to be taking. Seems to me that considering some of us whom push the boundaries in our marriages by travelling around the country as cheaply as we can afford, that the POTY function would have been something to look forward to. But alas, I'll give it a miss, family comes first. Thanks Welnix. Still, if you guys (Wellnix) have a spare 600k youd like to give to my wife and I, I might change my mind.

Pretty standard price across the A-league. It's mostly for the sponsors and corporates, rather than fans.

They'd better serve some bloody good pies at that price!

Anyone else go to the shed 5 (?) function 3 years ago? That was quite good.

Riera for Player of the Year?

$200 is pretty good. I'll blow that like it aint no thang. Though in saying that im not in the process of buying shit for my new house or supporting two kids - so fair call.

Not saying Reira doesnt deserve player of the year, or that injuring himself is his fault, but he kind of didnt play for a while when others did. For me i think Kenny is in for a good shout. Hes one of the few who you know put in a good shift every week, probably the most consistent in scoring too. I think we couldve done a lot worse with him injured as well.

Have they announced young player of the year yet, or is that also tonight?

I am thinking that the Fever Leaders may have freebies? Patrick are you on the guest list this year as I see some support for Gareth on the cost issue?

And the most important question, is there entertainment happening over by the tables on the other side of the room where not many people sit?

I'm surprised they have fan of the year. What's the criteria, who kept paying to watch when they were losing?

People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can't trust people.

No disrespext intended to Blew who is a great volunteer but generally they give it to someone inside their house.

Don't think any Fever have won it except News.

Lia wins players' player of the year.

Did they award a Volunteer of the Year award this year? Usually that's where a volunteer gets rewarded, the last two winners were people outside the "house" (Dale and Ahmad).

Patrick I think you need to allow for the fact that I was quite drunk when I posted that. Stop defeating me with facts.

By the way my favourite part of last night was finding out that Dale's swanky new suit has a lining with the All Blacks logo all over it. #judas

Sad to see you still have this fixation.Tell you what if you have the balls, what say you  front me in the new season and tell me exactly what your problem is with me.Since day one of this site i have offered support and tried to help out.In the early days i even had a sign writing mate  who was prepared to make some banners.Surprise surprise the offer wasnt taken up guess it came from the wrong person.

Yep i will enjoy another season of the Phoenix next year by maintaining my membership.Sadly doubt it will be  in the zone as its no where near as friendly in there as it used to be and some think their importance is much more than it should be.Hopefully the club may realise at some stage that there are other fans.
Have to laugh was talking to another member at the last game who has also become a little disillusioned with the fever and as he pointed out, when you actually look at the posts its pretty much the same people all the time. Making the claimed membership a bit of a joke.
Good luck guys and girls look forward to chatting to some of you in the future as i have done since day one.

This again?

I'm not a member of the YF bigwiggery.

I am a member of a cycling forum, DayZ forum, Fortean Times forum, and used to be on the Diablo forums big time as well as a few other game, cycling and profession- related forums/message boards.

All of them have a core of posters who post regularly. Even the old massive Football 365 forum which was just fucking huge had it's core people back in the day. I don't know what you expect? It's just part of the life of a forum.

Also where I stand in the zone I could name a few people have been there from 2007 or thereabouts who have never posted on this forum to my knowledge or if they've done it have done it very infrequently.

I still don't know why you've still got such an issue with the YF organizers? I agree they were  a bit elitist in the beginning but I actually put that down to being f*cking busy getting everything moving. HN I probably know to talk to the most from the beginning is a lovely bloke. Patrick stood in front of me in the zone for a couple of seasons before he got involved, I think it even might have been me who first suggested he be a mod on here.

For something that happened back in 2007/8 why are you still bearing a grudge?

Also judging by your post count you are one of those people so are you laughing at yourself?

It was all reading very well Fortean times until you said that you were the first to nominate Patrick as a mod. What a calamity that was!! I don't know the background to all this but Tegal appears to Be wrong 99.9 per cent of the time so by the law of averages I'll take Ballanes side on this one.

If somebody who is wrong 99.9% of the time says that I am wrong 99.9% of the time, does that mean I am actually right 99.8% of the time?

I am not going to try and figure that one out, it may result in a looping migrain that just wont end. But I think there is some e very dry humour in there which was funny.

I think you have me confused with someone who has an actual say about things in the YF. Patrick? What's been so bad about him? A young bloke, very passionate about the Phoenix and has helped bring on the App and 'THIS".

Compared to other forums our mods have a pretty light touch and I don't see Patrick as being any different, how many folk have been banned or suspended since the Fever forum began?  Give me an example of the calamity?

Honeslty if you and Ballane want to go and form your own supporters group then go and do it. Maybe with our recent signings you could call yourself Spanish Flu?

Probably should be in the Patrick thread but if you want any help with a cell phone or tablet, he is the young man to ask the questions of. A positive to counter my moans.

Or the Ballane (feat. AucklandPhoenix) vs the YF dance off thread?

You are right though LG, I'll withdraw particularly as we should be celebrating Blew's award. Sterling stuff!
