Yeah lets sign him. He would last 10 mins in the HAL getting red carded every game.

A petulant grandchild is better behaved that this guy.

He has the latin way about him but would excel in this team IMO.

He doesn't excel in ASBP so why would we sign him?

Over all pretty good. A bit stop start in the middle.

Why do people keep wanting to sign comparatively sh*t players from a comparatively sh*t league.

Nix needs football players, not hacks.

One day, if the Nix still exist, I would like the team to challenge for 1st, not 6th.

6th out of 10 is a fail

Season's over guys. We aren't going to make the top 6 if we play like this. Even if we do make it we will just be making up the numbers. I know in past seasons we have gone mid season runs but it doesn't seem like this season. This is a bit of a reactionary post, I will admit. I just don't see the point in doing our best this season if the difference is between coming 6th and 7th.

I would start by making Sigmund a peripheral figure and trying out Dylan Fox at centre back for the rest of the season. We need to develop another centre back. If Sigmund isn't going to be there next season then there is no value in picking him every week. I want to see more of Ridenton, Rufer, Appiah and Powell as well. We also need to work out who our best wing backs are. I quite like Danaskos and Gulley.

I agree that Danaskos and Gulley are worth keeping, but not sure Powell will be hanging around.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

This is why we need to give him a good amount of game time so we can find out whether he is someone we want for next season.

Well Gulley only lasted 45 min. Ernie wasn't happy with his performance.

I think we need a Matt Simon type who can keep the defence on their toes and takes some of the attention off Roly and co

I think if Sarpong had actually lived up to his rep and cv, he could have been that guy

Well, Manny and Dura did exactly that last night (to our defence).

That was the point I was trying to make around Corrales but you did it better.

I would like to see:

             Powell

Weemac  Bonevacia   Krishna

I know, I know. Krishna has scored a lot of goals. However, Burns played in that same position and scored plenty last season.

If you want to see more of players who have shown themselves to be entirely average then go and watch them at training so we don't have to. Saying that they will all play as we don't have anyone else (and I don't mind Powell and Danaskos getting more runs)

If those players have shown themselves to be average then we need to immediately cut their contracts. Cut them loose and get in players who could have a positive impact for next season. Let's not waste this opportunity.

and who are those players? You see it's quite easy to say that, but in most cases, the replacements are not better. Hence why these players are squadies and don't play much and the players that are not squadies, play ASBP or are sitting at home in AU

Right, it's tough.

My point is that if we think that someone like Fenton is never going to be good enough in the A-league, we should stop picking him now. We would be better off picking Gulley who we have seen less of and who may still have room to grow. If we can't make a title run this season, we can at least try to figure out who is going to be good enough to stick around next season.

Last year I thought Fenton would end up being one of the best full backs in the league this season. Something has give horribly wrong.

He is yet to show any real aptitude for defending.

He is "okay-ish" in the other aspects of his role as a fullback.

He cuts in a lot but if I recall correctly he's been told to do that.

His shoulders may have dented his confidence, but all up he's been average and when you see what he has done midfield it's a shame.

Last year he was defensively quite good. And was much better at taking on a man. He was man of the match a few times IMO.

True. Is this just a post-injury loss of confidence? As in - feeling brittle?

This season I see a lot of tentative and uncertain passing from Fenton.

Didn't he get injured pre-season on his shoulders and the general opinion was that he never came back from break that quite the same mentally?

Irrespective of the circumstances, he hasn't proved himself and considering what he has shown in other positions, it's a waste.
