i was talking to him before the game and he said ernie told him he was no longer needed, so will be heading home and will probably return to state leagues in aussie.

That's a shame. I thought in the few games he played he looked pretty handy. Certainly good enough to be cover in a position where we've always struggled. If Doyle goes down who have you got to put in there (when Muscat's gone)? Fenton? Would rather have Danaskos to be honest.

Who's seen much of Dimairo this season? How's he progressing? Can he play LB? Also, isn't McGarry left-footed? Is Ernie going to try to convert him to a LB?

I'm disappointed he is going. I think he will be snapped up by another team pronto.

There was also a rumour from a rubbish sauce that Roux was trying to get out of his CCM deal in order to sign for us.

not much there to get excited about

There are not alot of competent fullbacks in this league, there never have been. 

It's a shame we dont try to take advantage of that by playing with quite a narrow attack this season. (Though our full-backs probably haven't got forward as competently as Ernie wanted them to) 

There were a few weeks where Tom Doyle was whipping in great crosses that created chances, seems a long time ago now.

So Watson was going around telling people how much he would earn if he got a contract next year..... Got hairdryer treatment from Merrick and dropped. Who thinks he will be offered a contract now?

Of course a young guy is going to be bragging about earning money, even the minimum wage of the A-League is big money if you're 22. When I got my first proper job outside of University I was ecstatic as well, even though it was bugger all.

That story about the board not wanting to sign him until late in the preseason to save a few grand doesn't seem to make much sense as he won't be on much.

I hope he signs, but then if he's bragging about money he has the potential to go off the rails and spend half his time in mermaids.
