Training begins on Monday. Honestly can't wait to see Finkler in a stripey.
He is class. Hope he can pull the strings for us this season and feed Kosta and Krishna

Unlikely. Nothing announced, that post was just referring to last year.

They to be giving off a different message.

https://www.facebook.com/wellingtonphoenixfc/posts...

"Only seven days until team returns for #preseason16"

Could just be a camp though.

I'll be quiet then.

You're not the only one who read it like that. Was a very poorly worded post

No weka park game this year ? first time this has happened in about 4 years boo hoo . Apparently the schedule is too full

This is just the start of the preseason schedule. Weka Park usually happens in September so plenty of time for that to be announced.

Reminder that the first Nix preseason game is coming up next Tuesday against Wairarapa. There is a cover charge for this game.

Fellow A League side the Wellington Phoenix will also head to Townsville here for a pre-season camp, with two fixtures featuring the Fury and the two top tier Australian clubs to take place at the Townsville Sports Reserve.

City will take on the Northern Fury in a game on Wednesday, September 7, before playing the Phoenix on Sunday, September 11, as the town secures pre-season A League games for the second time in the last three years.

We should really play City while we're up there too. Would be good experience after Cairns last season.

Ohhhhhh. I thought that meant city vs. fury, then nix vs. fury. Thanks.

So is much of the fever going to the Rapa game?

If so are they going to be based in the stands or in the GA area?

Don't think McGlicnchey is playing tonight. Might be a weakened starting XI.

Finished 3-1 to the nix. Wairarapa probably deserved to be closer than that to be fair. Enjoyable game.

McGarry had to be released otherwise he wouldn't be allowed to play, but will be resigned before start of the season.

How did the young players go... really interested in Singh and if he is physically beginning to stack up (technically is gifted enough).

notion that mcgarry 'had' to be released is laughable when rogerson wasn't (whether by his choice or the nix's)

Is there anyone who was there who can give a rundown on how the different players performed? Is Louis Fenton our Nathan Burns replacement? Is Dylan Burns our Nathan Burns replacement?

Rogerson has been with the AWs, that meant he would have been unavailable for about 6 weeks (or more) anyway.

Ruairi (roughly pronounced Rory) Cahill-Fleury is a local Wellington lad from Island Bay. Brilliant kid, hope he makes it.

Good to see a lot of local Wellington talent in the trial list.

As well as Ruairi, Cherbal Khouchaba is from Stop Out. Liam Wood is from Upper Hutt. Liam Hare is a Masterton lad I think.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Most of the triallists in name only LG.  Most of them are Phoenix players every week for the Academy/United in the Central League and during summer for the ASB Premiership side.  More like Youth players getting time in the first team environment.

Liam Wood is a great lad too. His  Dad is a plonker but Liam can't be blamed for that.  *winky emoticon*
