I didn't realise that he had trained under Ernie.

I know he's had time overseas in the States etc but seems to have changed positions since then from a LB / RB to a DM. Looks to have a good passing range and timed his tackles well whilst seemingly not been flustered on the ball when under pressure.

But do we need another young midfielder after Rufer and Ridenton?

I'd take him.

Rufer and Ridenton are weird ones, the both seem to play several roles, but I don't know if DM is right for either of them. Hudson-Wihongi, however, is a DM, and a current international, albeit that's not a high bar. What is a fairly high bar, however, is to perform well for formerly-worlds-3rd-best-team Auckland City, which he has done.

I do have to question the hair, though. It's a bit of a shocker.

Why not... great pedigree and certainly would add a different element to our team.

Plus he's a good guy in person who does a lot of charity work that goes unnoticed. I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Shall we show Siggy's punch, Manny's elbows etc etc.

One bad tackle does not make a bad player.

Who is saying he's a bad player? He's just a dick on the field. Has been turning into a complete egomaniac lately which isn't very endearing.

He'll be 37 by the end of the coming season is much less of a draw in NZ than in Aus and his last two clubs 'mutually terminated' with him.

Past it and problematic.  No thanks.

Plus we have no one able to put in a good cross, his aerial ability is his biggest strength in his game nowadays

Wait, who's says we are signing timmy? And if we are, surely we are just being used as a bargaining chips to push the demand up from the oz clubs

Yes is age is a concern, but he is still a great athlete, obviously not the same class as Del Piero but he played to a high level at 40.

I agree we do not have a great crossing team, but then we have never really had a great target to aim for or someone really attack the ball in the air. I think he'd do a job.

Do I want to sign him no... my question was why not... as the argument he's a dick doesn't hold up or have weight.

i would love to have him at the nix. Not only to stick it up the other A league clubs, but also to have him leading the line. Yes his head is his main weapon but he would open up our attack and made our wide players more effective in the front third.

I dont think he would be problematic.... well... no more than Hernadez...

I just don't think we need him. We have enough attacking midfielders, just as long as he doesn't go to CCM so we won't be last in attendances again.

City looking the most likely for Codhill. Apparently he's looking for $2 - $3 million a season.

Will be able to dip into the marquee fund and City group to pay out the rest. Very doable for City.

Love how he's not driven by money but wants to give back to Australia when given a comprehensive plan (or words to that extent.)

Two million is a fairly comprehensive plan I must say.

No.

Not as a player, he is not. He would be played sparingly as a turnstile drawcard.

He is much more of a crowd favourite in his twilight than say Harry Kewell or dare I say Lucas Neill.

" getting Tim into the A-League ... a process that the FFA would support in any way that we can..." - D Gallop.

So why not go for it?

Let's see the colour of Gallop's money.

Codhill may not be so much a drawcard here, but he sure would in every away game.

I hope not. I like him, and there's no reason why he's not going to be a top centre-back in the a league. But that's in the future. He's 22, and our backline needs strengthening. I would put him as first name on the bench, though, to bring on if something needs plugging. But we need a new, starting, CB.

This will be a very important developmental year for him, because if he can put in a good shift this campaign, then he'll probably take duras starting spot going into next season, alongside any new signing.
