I'd take Anichebe in a heart beat... but his injuries are never ending.
still quite young though.

Andrew Hoole released by Sydney, I'm guessing to allow him to go to another A-League club. Pacey winger, could be a good Barba/Krishna bench or, heaven forbid, injury replacement
And Jets will up the ante for contracts on anyone left without a club now that they are no longer kept alive by FFA money.
The new Chinese owners seem to awash in cash (they sponsor the Portuguese 2nd Division).
Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days
So how's our central defender looking? Hope is being upsized to include a right wing back (no more Louis out of position) and knows a good def midfielder. These are three key signings and I'm surprised we havent heard anything for a while. Maybe they are playing in Copa America or the Euros so too busy to do interviews and photo op at westpac stadium.
I also hope Ernie is going to shake up style of play as well as his squad this year. More width, more incisive, more mongrel.
I watched some of the Euros and teams play a wide pattern whereas in the A League you have 20 players all clumped together chasing the ball around like college kids. If Ernie had the Nix playing a spread out type of style it could really open up the game. But then, you need players capable of doing just that.
So the LB, RB and CB problems still yet to be resolved and preseason has already started. I hope the club are not going to wait until August 31st before acting on these critical positions.
Ernie was apparently over in the UK a few weeks ago with Gould. No doubt looking for a CB, still early in the pre season and when you're looking at foreign players you need to wait until some of their better options dry up. No need to worry, we were very active already and now we can focus exclusively on a couple of positions.

Depends. Can the offer us U20s Tuiloma or ONC Tuiloma. I'd take the first one, not so much the second one.
Rather have Hudson-Wihongi
Sounds like a terrible affliction

I LOVE LAMP
In that interview he said two things, first that the plan was to build the AW team around the under 23 squad because with the Olympics they were going to get much more of a chance to play together. So that's why no Keats, James, etc. However we all know what happened there. So surely that plan is out of the window?
The other thing he said was that he's using the AWs to put players in the shop window so they can get a pro contract. Nice if you're one of his favourites but surely the senior team should be selecting based on ability and not potential? That's what the age groups are for.
What's the likelyhood that one of these young guns that are being paraded around as All Whites in order to get a contract then declines to play for the team as they're trying to cement themselves in their new clubs.
I still hold hope for Dyer. He's barely 18, not many players are the finished product at 18 so I think our expectations of where he is at now for his age should be considered more so than what we expect from a full international, which he shouldn't be yet.
Actual transfer news:

"Nothing rhymes with Hudson-Wihongi"
"We smell uranium on your breath" said league man David Lange.
But nuking them on the football pitch is our Te Atawhai Hudson Wihongi.
Kotahitanga. We are one.
Te Atawhai
Hudson-Wihongi
Me te rangimarie
Tatou tatou e
I think it translates to
"Te Atawhai Hudson-Wihongi, and peace, be with us all"

Ahh the off-season... when the only transfer speculation is inventing a chant for someone who doesn't play for us...
Love it
And isn't Maori Language week approaching too? Kill 2 birds with 1 stone so to speak.
So obviously gotta add my two cents now...

Why Te Atawhai?

Based on what I've read on NZ "news" sites I'd be too scared in case it is received as racist due to cultural appropriation.

You can kill two birds with one stone but only if they're kereru.

Came to see how the off-season recruitment is going. Left confident YF has pivoted to a Kapa Haka group.
WIlso and I have been trying to get Poi-E flying since season 1.
