I reckon Doyle looks like a CB trying to play FB. Much like when Siggy had to fill in there. Gets up and down quite well, but turns like a brick house and gets skinned easily.
Name one a-league FB who doesn't get frequently skinned by an attacker. We expect Kosta, Krishna, and others to burn an opposition FB one on one. It happens to all FB's in the league.

Along these same lines. The new left wing Parkhouse who was named player of the year in the NSW league must have come up against RBs every single game. I hope Ernie asked him who was the toughest to get past and there is a lead to explore. Ironically Ernie was looking for a back in the same game that he watched and then signed Parkhouse.

Personally I consider his best performances to have been in Adelaide colours, and that was what, 5-6 years ago? Has not done much for Melbourne City after leaving the Reds.
Even if he would still be a decent player at A-League level, now (at best) he would be a "Jason Hicks On Steroids". And he'd competing for a place on the left side of the pitch where we are OK at the moment.

Good point but regardless of whether it's the kids or over 20s I wonder what training quality is like - learning from seasoned pros vs QLD NPL kids and semi pros; who is coaching there?

Yes I agree with Ryan's comment. We really want the RB of the year from the nswpl. A starter that is very consistent. Playing the last 20 wasn't a big advert by the coach. Then the coach says to Ernie can you save his legs for a non a-league game. Does he want a pro gig or not?
