Western Sydney on the 3rd Nov.at Westpac - My 150th "Home A League Phoenix fixture" game AND the day after my birthday. Come on lads, 3 point for a present please!
2018-19 Season Fixtures
So no Friday games? Bit weird?
To those in Welly; does this sound good or bad?
Where on the internet do I click to add all A-league fixtures (and only those fixtures) to my calendar?

Good. Friday's aren't very popular.
Who do I have to give sexual favours to to make sure the two home-away games both happen at Mt Smart?
Mt Smart or Eden Park. Prefer Mt Smart though. easy as to get a train to.
Not having a home game over Christmas/New Years is a bonus.
With Boxing Day Test in Melbourne too!
No true home game between 26 Jan and 17 March. That's a long stretch for a true fan.
Hutt Wreck, let's start the campaigning now!!
"We want the Wreck, We want the wreck!! We want the Wreck!!"

Have put a post up in dangerous liaisons if you are keen

Newtown park probably holds enough supporters
But parking is a prick up their, even for 6-8,000

Oh, right you are, saw 19 in the heading and got carried away!

The station at Eden Park is probably closer than Mt Smart. Note: I've only done the train trip to each once but that's my memory of it.

It is. It's across the road. The Mt Smart train is about 10 minutes walk away.
Even so, Eden Park shouldn't be in the discussion. We'd get nowhere near enough people there at the moment.
There are pros and cons to Mt Smart vs Eden Park.
We are away to Jason hicks and the Bentleigh Greens in the FFA Cup.

Look, I live literally 10 minutes walk from Eden Park so you'd expect me to want the Nix to play there, but it's a cavernous hole with no atmosphere, and we couldn't afford it anyway. So an AKL game would go to either Mt Smart or that windswept white elephant in Albany, and I know which I prefer.
Mount Smart!!
Wonder if we could give The 'Tron another chance? Play one game in Auckland and the other there
Still dont get why they dont play in Napier Labour Weekend every year. Didnt they get a decent crowd 1st time.
Early evening drinks can be costly!
Flights to Adelaide 1 Jan and return from Sydney on 11 Jan .... BOOKED.
Road trip!
Very tough finish with 3 out of 4 games on the road. Going to need a much better start and middle than the past couple of years.
better chance of a better start with international windows being recognised

Though our results have always been good when the kiwis went away, it was definitely disruptive.

No AWs fixtures have yet been announced for October and November. NZF have a caretaker CEO, and Rob Pickstock (spp) who was reportedly well connected overseas and very handy at securing games for national side, left NZF a few months ago.
Those international windows maybe irrelevant for Kiwi footballers this year. Though you would hope Schmid is also well connected overseas - coaching in Europe and Asia - re securing some friendlies.
Hey all,
Any news on what is happening with the TBC venues? A couple of us came over for the Victory game last year and had a great time and were keen to come again this season.
Its hard to make plans and get organised when you don't know where the game is going to be (and super frustrating when Virgin has a great sale on flights to NZ last week!).
Cheers
Dan
In the email:
'Due to Westpac Stadium's unavailability, there are two Phoenix home game venues outside Wellington to be confirmed on the 16th and 23rd of February. A third regular season home game outside Wellington is also awaiting confirmation.'
So three home-away games this season, so eleven games in wellington, three elsewhere, (I'm guessing Canberra (unfortunately) and Auckland x2) and the rest away.
I would expect the Victory game to be in Auckland but I wouldn't buy flights based on that,
To watch Honda. My cynical side kind of wishes only 5k show up.
really annoying that the three times we play Victory they are away from Wellington! I realise its not, but it feels like a conspiracy to stop us seeing him live this season

Fixed
If we're good enough, we'll beat them anywhere.
I'm actually Canberra based, so a game here would be alright for me at least! Although the FFA seems to only send garbage fixtures here and then puts them on a terrible times only to wonder why they can't convert such a strong grassroots region into bums-on-seats. Just more of the standard one step forward, three steps backwards from the FFA.
I'll keep my eye out for an announcement on the venue. I've never been to Auckland, so I guess it would be good to go there for a game. We were just keen to come back to Wellington.

I don't expect a 'home' game in Canberra, I think that ship has sailed. Like News said, it'll probably be Auckland, with a small possibility that it may be elsewhere in NZ (but not Wellington). Best to wait for an official announcement before booking anything.

We still have a decent small rectangular stadium in Christchurch, and a loyal supportive crowd.
