They will be a good team, but they haven't bet an A-League team before. Last year they won against another NPL team in penalties then lost 4-0 to WSW in round of 16. There best run was 2014 where they made the semis betting other NPL teams before meeting an A-League team and that years runner up Perth Glory and losing 3-0.

Yeah but we don't even have any players yet

Plus the whole Academy less most of the oldest players who are injured.

Andy idea how long is Calvin Harris out for? This might have been a decent chance to give him a run off the bench.

was told end of season, was at Wellington United when told that so assuming season meant the Central League season so not until September, didn't sound good though

Hip joint injury is my understanding. Not good for him, especially since he waited so long for competitive games.

Good opportunity for game time for his replacement though.

Sail in goal and Smith up front, or the other way around?

Smith up front... Smith was "better with his feet" according to Kalezic, that's why he started.

Keinzley was expecting Elliot to be unavailable for this weekend’s Central League clash with Havelock North Wanderers due to the Phoenix having a pre-season match

So, umm who/where are we playing?

Draw expected to be released later this week. Think it's been flagged earlier, but the stadium is unavailable for all of February so expect a sizeable gap between games at Westpac.

Nothing that building our own home ground wouldn't fix. ;)

We would have one in Petone if NIMBYs didn't have any input...

I'd slag that off as rumours are usually that, but I did that with the FAPL and then discovered the leak was actually true!!!

If one is wrong, then at least two are surely. FoxSports is reporting a Roar v CCM opening round fixture, dunno where they got the others from

Surely it will be Jest v Tards in first round wont it?

Three Sunday 7pm kick offs and two games in February to be played elsewhere around the country.

[Edit: both the TBC games in February are back to back, maybe we can borrow the Hutt Wreck for a fortnight?]

Not having a home game over Christmas/New Years is a bonus.

A Victory/Adelaide/Wanderers away trip would be a pretty decent way to spend two weeks holiday over New Years, not very cheap tho
