Never played in the a-league so hard to judge where he stands, but being 6’5 is gonna help us with our set pieces at least

hopefully he enjoys it with the nix and likes the fact he's getting game time and we can sign him long term.

That surely ends the Stanger rumours as well. Hope he can wind up somewhere good for his development

As well as being the best club to poach proven imports from. The Nix are now the best club to send your youth players to further there development. ??

I mean at least this is a sign that they rate him?

We should still sign Stranger, we only have 3 CBs on the books. Need at least four in case on injuries.

Yes to the we need more CBs part. Unsure if it’s Stranger we need though.

Lots of other clubs signing imports. But looks like we will have to wait till Jan.
Talay saying that he wants to bring in an import CB and No.10.
That still leaves one import spot. Seems a waste if not used. might as well bring in a Kaltak or Semmy to at least be part of the squad. Good opportunity to do so.

Semmy has signed a 1 year deal with Jets. Just has to be announced.

Pretty sure they don't have a visa spot left for him.

Yeah, but he has been included in their teamlist for signed players.

Reckon that’s nothing more than a mistake, he’s signed for Altona Magic in the NPL teaming up with old mate Vinnie Lia. Jets will definitely be monitoring him though

Let's cut the Jets lunch like they did to us with Scrappy and sign him from under their noses.  Worth a shout I reckon.

I was actually thinking this might be the likely scenario now that we're not going to be able to move to get any visa players until into the new year.

Actually think he'll be quite up for this role. I like the fact he'll be more of a focal point in attack, rather than drifting in and out of matches from on the flanks. Good move.

it's just a squad squad number change not specifically related to playing position though. Logically this year he'll be our play maker replacing Davilla, but he didn't need a number change for that to occur. I suspect his preferred number is 10 and now Davilla is gone he gets first choice.

Could see that too, but still think he (based on last season) stays to wide to be an effective playmaker. Obviously not like for like with Davila, but one of the trickier, creative, and more technical players we have on the books currently.

I still think he'll show up more through the middle ala Davila, as we'll be playing the same style and structure.

How'd he go at the Jets?

6' 3" - good to have some height in the team. I remember him being part of some good moves at the Jets, but he was used sparingly IIRC?

Can't really recall his performances, but he logged some pretty good minutes for a youngster.

Be interesting to see how he's used, as he's capable of AM and DM roles. Good to get some height back in the side too.

Good signing given the circumstances. Happy we got him and Pennington. Players with overseas experience but without needing to use up a visa spot.

Was decent for a very bad Jets side. He and Rufer backing up Lewis and Pennington should be enough depth in those 6 roles - hopefully we take Jackson Manuel over to fill any holes as well.

I mean not really, his ability to draw fouls was defo a big/known part of his play. Though I don't blame anyone for not watching the Jets lol

Like what I’ve read so far about this guy. As others have said, a guy with euro experience without using a visa spot, well done to the club for managing to get him. A few Jets folk seem disappointed they couldn’t get a deal sorted which is always a good sign.

Could he also be a cover for one of the 10's - atleast until January?
