Someone easy to start us off and ease into some early matches. Don't want to be knocked out first round as that impacts our pre-season.
Wouldn't even be too bad if we played one of the A-League teams which have been gutted from transfers!
I'm sorry, what you said is a far more accurate reflection of what Chiefy said than what I said. It certainly sounds like he isn't intending on adding any additional "starting" midfielders to the squad, but I guess it is feasible he only intends to only have two 6/8 roles in the starting team.
lineup (55).png136.84 KB Not too sure if this is the formation we'll use but think it'd still be a similar lineup. Quite a strong lineup for our first game not sure if we would've ever started this strong for an FFA cup game?

The Power have had an indifferent season in Queensland’s top competition sitting in the middle of the table.
However, they come into this one in some positive form, with an eleven-game unbeaten run in the league.
The Redcliffe-based outfit performed strongly in the Cup last year making the quarter-finals before being knocked out by eventual finalists Sydney United 58.
They’ve had a steady run through to the national round in 2023, conceding just twice in the four games played.
Pleased to see Paulsen get the start over Duncan. Think this season is going to be make or break for Van Hattum. To be fair he's never really had a proper crack only final 10 minute appearances off the bench. Will be watching closely to see what he can do given a full 90 minute run.
Slightly strange XI, could be a 3313 with Rufer, Al-Taay or Pennington in a John Stones style DM/CB role?IMG_5381.jpeg412.71 KB
Rufer you would think.
Or actually 4-2-2-2 Payne paired with Surman LKH [L] Al Taay [R] Rufer Pen narrow OvH [L]Barbarous [R] wide Kraev and Zawada central up top. Kraev maybe just behind
