I would just like to say a big thank you to all the guys and girls who voted for me as members' player of the year.

It has been a great season and I love playing every week at the cake tin. The noise is one of the best in the league and we all love it.

Enjoy your winter soccer for those that play and we will see you next season.

Thanks

He was great to chat with on Friday night....a very humble guy who said he gets goosebumps and fired up by the support we show for him and the songs we sing.

I said many of us felt in touch with him as a kiwi footballer living the (our) dream - going from the NZFC to his first year of life as a footballing professional.  Playing with such passion and determination that gave him an undisputed starting spot and the reward of members player of the season.

He laughed and said he hadn't thought of it like that but liked the sound of it....

His acceptance speech paid specific tribute to Roland the physio for all the work he had done in helping Siggie get through the season - a nice touch.

We loooove you Siggie
'cos you've got great hair
We love you Siggie
'cos you're everywhere
We love you Siggie
'cos you're Kiwi through and through!!!!

We Ben "Sea Monster" Sigmund!

Oska, you should become one of those hard-hitting journalists that lure politicians in with soft questions and then go for the well-researched kill.

Feverish must resign!

Lets be honest - The Ring of Fire never really caught on. It will always be the cake tin or westpac.

Westpac it is then. Cake Tin is usually reserved for jealous Auckland Journalists, namely the TVNZ variety.

Really? I hear it called the caketin from more Wellington people than Auckland. The Aucklanders I work with seem to prefer calling it the Westpac Stadium. Personally, I prefer to not to use the sponsor name - they often change anyway. I don't call the Events Centre the TSB arena or whatever it is now either.

Nothing wrong with calling the stadium the caketin. It's not as if it's owned by the Nix - we'd surely prefer a proper rectangular football stadium anyway. Personally, I don't like the place and only put up with its odd shape and crap food because it's the only place the Nix can play.

Good to see Siggy come out of the season so well. Definitely my favourite player this last season.
