What improvements do you think the active zone needs for the upcoming season?
Perhaps Notices put up at the Ailse 20/21/22 entrances to advise of the "rules" 1] Standing up, not sitting. 2]Singing as loud as you can. 3] Be warned that you may hear inappropriate chants/songs/language. 4] If you don't like the loud noise, you may wish to sit elsewhere. 5] Have fun, it's meant to be a fun zone supporting the team to the max. 6] Shirts off at the 80th Minute if we are winning. There is no decrimination in this, everyone is included.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

At the derby on Saturday I witnessed a slightly angsty moment when a group of fans arrived late in the Zone and found people standing in their allocated seats. By the time they arrived we were packed pretty tight, but after a little grumbling the standing people did move along (as they should have).
It got me thinking though, there's an inherent tension between allocating seats in the Zone and the "just turn up and stand wherever" vibe it has. Has the club ever considered/tried making that section of the stadium general admission instead? Does that sound like a good idea? It works fine at Porirua Park, but of course that's on a much smaller scale.

I don't know how easy it would be to get that to work (just due to like putting it on tickettek-I know that sounds stupid). But as someone who likes to sit on their own seat I am very much behind having Fever at Sky Stadium GA. It works well at Porirua as all of that is GA but yeah I am behind that. Is it possible if enough people bring up the conversation? Simon B

Sorry no we have always operated on the principal of stand where you can/want,BUT if the person who has that seat booked turns up and asks you to move you just move . Has worked that way since we started and i see no reason why it should change. Newer people just need to understand what is expected and im sorry abide by the standards that have applied since the start. There are a few people who have had the seat they are in for a long time and im sure they wouldnt want GA to be a thing and nor do i.

Cheers, that’s a really good point I hadn’t considered (which is precisely why it was worth asking the question).
And yeah I don’t think there’s an actual problem to solve here - even for YF season tickets they make it clear that you’re being allocated a seat (although I couldn’t tell you mine without checking the ticket), so I think everyone understands the convention. But it’s nice how we can be flexible about it where that doesn’t impact anyone else’s enjoyment of the game.

Not many of us fossils left i fear so your pretty safe standing where you want most of time. Its not needed to be used often but is sometimes required in games like the semi final where i had a big argument with a group who had taken the seats of some people in front of me and thought they just had the right to go where they want. End result they moved.
