OK team, Rob Fyfe, at Air New Zealand says
Sorry, bit confused, how many fans are we talking about, are these non- refundable, non-transferable tickets, or fully flexible tickets.

I realise when these event changes occur there is a high expectation that Air New Zealand should pick up the costs created and take the financial hit. While we try to be helpful where we can, December is our busiest month of the year so these transfers aren't easy - all of which is why we strongly recommend people take out travel insurance.

Once you give me numbers and dates - I can have a look at it.

I'm not going to Christchurch I am taking myself out of this loop. So does one of you want to try and co-ordinate a response to this?

Add a survey(Poll) with "booked ANZ 5th" and "not yet booked". Then if Air NZ see how many unbooked may travel with A-League sponsor Qantas, they may buy some elegance.Hogster2010-06-25 13:13:00

Shouldnt book on Air NZ. Should be supporting our sponsors if we want to keep them.

A number of contributors to this forum seem to be under the impression we live in a nanny-state where you don't have to take responsibility for decisions like buying non-refundable plane tickets.

Anything Air NZ do will be a goodwill gesture. It's definitely fair to say none of this is their fault and people know the deal when they buy the cheap flight tickets.

The club and the stadium are the ones who should be dishing out any compensation.

Agreed.  And further rRob Fyfe the CEO has agreed to have a look.  So why don't some of you stop being so friggin' clever and try to take the opportunity that's presented. I can't see how slagging other fans (choice of airline and the like)  is helpful to anyone.

Did anyone want to take this further with Rob Fyfe? He's emailed me back, again, and said if he can have an indication of people affected he'll look into it.

My flight back was with Air NZ, so feel free to count me as a person affected. Needless to say I don't blame the airlines for this, but any help they choose to offer I'd be grateful for.

Edit: Economy class, non-refundable FTR. Again, not Air NZ's responsibility.

Thanks for you efforts Turkiye.

I've been thinking about this over the weekend quite a bit. I still think it would be nice for the club to make some enquiries about this. I will probably be contacting the club in a few days time.

For the record I don't think any of the posters who, like me, got in early to get cheap flights expect any refund from AirNZ. Caveat emptor and all that.

What grates for me is that as things stand I will lose out on two "home" games (Sunday 5 pm is not a good time for a ChCh game in term time).

Although I'm starting to think about rescheduling the chch trip to the new year (at added cost) but need to sort out suitable dates etc.

Did you not read the original press release properly  they said the games have been changed suck it up and deal with it or words to that effect

 stuff article 23.06.2010
"Essentially it's a straight swap of the two scheduled fixtures between the two venues," said Phoenix interim chief executive Nathan Greenham.

"We were mindful of ensuring the club's members retained their right to 14 games at Westpac Stadium so we ruled out any thought of taking another match out of the city.

"We understand that this could cause inconvenience for some members but it was the most supporter-friendly solution to the problem." (see suck it up and deal with it )

not really the club's fault....the stadium owners have decided that Bon Jovi is more improtant than the nix, face it the club have been bumped and screwed just as much as we as fans have been....blame the stadium booking people....

The club is not responsible for the Adelaide match clash. The club is, however, responsible for the movement of the Newcastle match. The latter is the problem, not the former.

Qantas gave up NZ support by not using JETSTAR as a Phoenix sponsor in some way in NZ.

Stadiums Fault full stop.

IF the stadium knew the window in which Bon Jovi was likely to be scheduled, I'm sure the Phoenix would have been informed that the stadium might not be available - usually there would be a "subject to change" or a "TBC" pencilled in when the stadium is in the process of scheduling possible clashing events. If the Phoenix did know this but still chose to publicly confirm Westpac Stadium as the venue, then it is not the stadium's fault at all. I'm not saying this was the case but it would be unlikely that the stadium would not keep the Phoenix informed of such things.

Note: I am in no way speaking on behalf of the stadium here but rather as a Phoenix fan [I actually know as much as the rest of you about this particular matter].

Fuck this stupid game

Anyone else heard anything from Rob Fyfe? I would like to be counted in regard to having my Air NZ tickets changed to the 5/12 game otherwise 3 of us miss 2 games. Makes a season pass rather redundant actually.

Continuing the airlne theme.
I desperately need a flight back to Auckland AFTER games finish.
Currently any Ak supporter has to stay the night and if you have family or commitments this is a no no. We can probably add a couple of hundred if the flghts were available.

Received an e-mail from a lady at Air New Zealand after I e-mail edRob Fyfe to see if he could intervene regarding flight tickets that I had booked long ago for the 18th Dec match. She said she would look in to it and get back to me. Can't ask for more than that
