Anybody know when/where the court case is. From what I could find there are no scheduled sittings in the High Court in Wellington tomorrow?

Great, so are you just hypothesizing about "his past conduct" or do you want to do what his critics always seem very reluctant to do and detail exactly what he has done that is so awful. There always seems to be more rumour and inneundo about Terry's past than actual fact.Anyone?
^ This. There seems to be a lot of "ooh, that Terry Serepisos is a dodgy character. He's done some naughty things.." stuff bandied about but I have never seen or heard any actual details. Is this the "he can't have got where he is without cutting a few corners" syndrome.Loads of speculation and gossip but nothing to back it up?

very good points by both. terminator you love stealing the words right out of my mouth don't you? yes he is known to pay bills late but does anybody on here have any evidence of anything more substantial?

The only thing I can think of is hearing about how he is apparently a "sleaze" and hits on everyone (even the boys) at parties and a like. The source for this is people hearing from other people of course, but my mates mum once met him at one of these parties and he's just a really friendly guy when a tad intoxicated. I dunno, maybe people like to think they're being hit on by a millionaire.

Seen him at one or two 'parties' by chance and never seen anything of the like.

If that's true, let's hope Terry pulls something out of the bag and gives Our Favourite "Journalist" a serious case of blue balls.

Best case scenario: Smithy is right, the IRD lawyer on Monday was a junior who wasn't told that Terry had cut a deal, and the IRD will allow Terry a few more weeks.

If that's true, let's hope Terry pulls several big jars full of 10c pieces out of the bag and gives Our Favourite "Journalist" a serious case of blue balls.

Unless there is actually a way out that doesn't involve this dodgy loan which isn't going to eventuate, a few more weeks isn't going to do anyone any good.

Well, there is a way out. It's called "Plan B", and pretty much requires Terry mortgaging everything he can't sell in order to pay off his debts. It may even require selling the Nix, although I hope not.

Bottom line is that I am convinced that Terry will do everything he possibly can to save the Nix, even at the cost of the rest of his businesses.

I've just got a bad feeling this has gone beyond a cash flow problem to an equity problem. I'm not sure there is enough left to sell or mortgage given the depressed state of the market. One possible ray of hope is that Bollard just slashed interest rates by 0.5%. Not sure how much Terry will have on floating but if its a sizable chunk it will save tens of thousands a week.

Well, that's good news. Any indication of where the money came from? What he had to mortgage or sell? Or holy crap maybe Ali Syed is the real deal?!?

If he had $100m in the bank Doloras, he wouldn't have paid a sizeable chunk as opposed to settled in all.

Maybe Ali Syed handed over $2 million, coincidentally just after signing a deal with some poor Malaysian developer to loan them $200 million in return for a small fee...
